We lost the toss and got sent into bat. Umar and Tariq couldn't put on 100+ like they have done so many times in this match but could muster 64 runs before Tariq got our for 27. Inzi was the only other notable batsman to get a score of 24, with Afridi and Umar leading the show. Afridi came in at number 8, with us batting till 9 for the first time, and blasted his way to 46* off 35 balls. Umar was fairly impressive at the top of the order scoring 77 runs off 111 balls to get his second 70 score in two matches. His World Cup is finally coming alive. Indrasiri was incredibly impressive however for Sri Lanka and he has 12 wickets at an average of 10.75 now!

Their run chase wasn't successful at all, however it looked entirely different with Sri Lanka being 126/4 at one stage with Jayawardene and Jayasuriya in at the crease. Jayawardene ended up with their high score of 43 whilst Jayasuriya made 30, as Sri Lanka failed to turn their starts into half centuries and such. Every bowler got a wicket which was good, Afridi managaing to make the last wicket of the match his only one to record 1-24. Arafat was the best bowler with 3-37 but Asif(2-41), Razzaq(2-33) and Kaneria(2-31) were all good enough to keep their places for the next match. The only change I'm thinking about is bringing in Akmal for some random batsman. We'll see. After every team having played 3 matches, we are joint top with India, but are top on Net Run Rate. Awesome.

That's more like it!

Brilliant performance today. Batsmen were much better, making a very good total. Inzi lead from the front with a superb 123* and Misbah made a fine 51. Khan was brilliant up top with a rapid 47, and down the order Afridi, Razzaq and Anjum got stuck in.

Bowling wise we were perfect. Kaneria was sensational, twice getting two wickets in successive balls. Everyone chipped in with 1 wicket, although Razzaq and Nazir were expensive. Nevertheless, a fine performance.

A very strange match with us losing the toss on a bowlers pitch and getting put into bat. It didn't start well as we shortly found ourselves stranded on 91/5 with Younis Khan being the only resistance managing a decent 35. Afridi and Arafat then put on a speedy 49 before Arafat fell for 25 runs off 23 balls. Razzaq(13) and Kaneria(22) both helped the runs tick along in the last overs supporting Afridi well as he boom boomed his way to 38 from 24 balls. 196 was our final score, which wasn't too bad considering the pitch. Still, the England players were the favourites.

England then had the perfect start as they steadily got to 126/0. Two quick wickets saw them at only 128/2 with both Strauss and Trescothick going in quick succession. Pietersen then failed to make an impression, not even manaing double figures. England were on course to get an easy victory and required 18 runs off the last 5 overs. Arafat came in to bowl an over, going for 8 runs. 10 runs off the last 4 overs. Razzaq, who bowled rather well in the match, got the next over conceding only 2 runs. 8 runs off the remaining 3 overs. Asif then got a wicket first ball in his over, sending Ian Bell back to the pavilion for 35 runs. 3 runs then came in his over which meant Enlgand still needed 5 runs off 2 overs. Still on course for victory. A miraculous maiden from Kaneria put the match into a final twist, as England required 5 runs off the last over to win the match. Did they manage it? Nope, they didn't. 3 runs and a wicket in the last over meant a surprise victory for Paksitan from the jaws of defeat. Afridi and Kaneria were both brilliant with 2 wickets, Asif also chipping in with 1-28 but it was a team effort. All but Arafat(0-67) were brilliant with the ball.

Awful bowling once again. With them needing 8 an over from the last 6 we let them get there with balls to spare. Batting was woeful too, with the lower order once again saving us. Razzaq and Anjum were superb, giving us a fighting chance.

Talking to Jack on msn, I said whoever bowls first will win. It just so happened India won the toss, put me into bat first and won the match. Umar(11) didn't give us the best start but Tariq and Khan made it a little better and put on a 53 partnership, getting to 76/2. After Tariq got out for 36, Mohammad Yousuf got out for a duck. He has been terrible this World Cup, the most disappointing player by far. Khan and Shahid Yousuf then put on 81 together before Yousuf departed for 30 runs, a little better then his namesake, eh? Afridi came in and the run rate soon increased. It was too much for Khan though as he got bowled by Sharma for 81 runs. Arafat didn't last either meaning we were only 186/6. An 89 unbeaten partnership between Afridi and Ul-haq though brought us to a respectable 275/6 as Afridi mastermined his way to 73* off 38 deliveries. Inzi also helped in the teams effort for a good score, scoring 31* off 23 balls.

India had a mixed start as they raced to 81/3. They were scoring quickly but the top three of Singh, Sehwag and Tendulkar had all been dismissed. Laxman and Gambhir put on 64 together before Laxman fell for a run a ball 32. Sharma and Gambhir were the only batsmen to score well from there on in but it was somehow enough for India. Gambhir simply won the match for India single handedly with his 93 off 91 and in only his second innings of the World Cup, gets his second half century. Sharma fell short of his half century, managing 42* but played a massive role in the teams victory.

Bowled relatively well, but not great. We gave ourselves a good chance of victory, leaving just under 5 an over to win. We batted poorly yet again, and only Misbah and Razzaq put up any sort of fight. It's going to be difficult to progress now...

An absolute disgrace to cricket. Another awful performance by the batsmen. 139 in any form of cricket is just ridiculous. Our 3rd awful performance of the Super 8's leaves us needing a miracle to be able to qualify, as we lie 7th with one game to play.

Australia had a brilliant start and were 108/3 at one stage. Somehow though, they had a major collapse and only got 176/8 in the end. Jaques was the only batsman to really score well as he fell short of his 50, as the distinguished opening batsman scored 48 runs from 88 balls. Hayden(27) and Bichel(21) were the only other batsmen to score over 20 as Australia fail epically. Afridi, Kaneria and Arafat were once against the best bowlers, as the spin attack continues to be the best. Heck all the bowlers were fantastic. Even 1-40 isn't that bad for Razzaq, with all the other bowlers being economical and getting the wickets.

A simple win in the end for us. Umar and Tariq put on 57 for the opening stand before Umar and Khan put on 99 for the second partnership. This is the foundations that get put up by a brilliant team. Khan overtook Umar's score slightly, with both scoring in the mid 60's as we destroyed the Australian score. Tariq batted well also, making 38 in the process. Tariq averages over 50 for this world cup which is amazing. Khan however is averaging 75 and is having an immaculate world cup.
