well excellent start there by india.....137 of 34 now, i think india can do it....hope tendulkar plays a big inning

Its not 137 of 34 overs. Its 187 off 34 overs!!! Required run rate is 5.5 per over.

TENDULKAR OUT!!! INDIA IN TROUBLE!!!

TENDULKAR OUT!!! INDIA IN TROUBLE AT 83-3

In what might be a possible turnaround of this match, Sachin Tendulkar has been snared by the Kiwi quickie Shane Bond. Tendulkar played a fatal shot, a shot that is proving to be a nightmare for the Indian batsmen today, and paid the price for playing the shot too early and top edged the ball. The ball went miles high into the air and came down quickly and the fielder positioned at midwicket judged the catch very well. A very good catch considering that the ball went so high that one thought it would go into the skies!

WILL THIS BE A TURNING POINT IN THE FORTUNES OF INDIA AND NEW ZEALAND? LETS WAIT AND SEE.

India are 83-3 after 17 overs!

Rahul Dravid and Mohammed Kaif hold the crucial centrestage for India to take their team within footsteps to victory! New Zealand brimming in with full confidence and have accquired the spring in their steps. They are well truly pushing towards complete control in this match. 2 more early wickets and the Indian top order crumbles!

This match surely shows signs of being a fiercely contested game! Both teams not giving up and have performed very well in this game so far!

i think India are in a bit of trouble there Sai, and ur screen shots look superb now did u change something in the contrast there because it looked a bit darker previously, great work

New Zealand on top!

India 121/4 - New Zealand on top!
R Dravid 20*
A Jadeja 17*

Though the last few overs from the 20th to the 25th have been fruitful and good for India, New Zealand still hold the reins needed to win this match and register their first win of the tournament. India lost Kaif when the score was 91. Kaif who is normally a cool guy succummbed to his impatience and lofted a shot to fine leg but was caught by the fielder at fine leg boundary.

Jadeja came in at a time when everything started going wrong for India. He in the company of Dravid, has restored some sanity in the proceedings by scoring very quick runs. Dravid and Jadeja are running like hares between the wickets, leaving the New Zealand fielders panting for breath. The 21st and the 23rd over saw 16 singles being taken as Jadeja and Dravid took their risks against the class New Zealand fielding side. Boundaries are very hard to come by as the outfield is not very fast and Fleming has positioned men at various crucial boundary points and the bowlers are bowling a brilliant line according to their field.

Jadeja's four!

Comparison after 25 overs:
India 121/4
New Zealand 150/4

But still New Zealand should consider themselves on top. India now need close to 6 runs per over to win this match. Boundaries are too hard to come by and India now have to rely solely on their singles and get that odd boundary to keep the scoreboard moving at the required pace. This match still is wide open for both sides to win!

The remaining 24 overs of the game should certainly prove to be a cracker of a contest!

oh that one? I increased the brightness of the pictures with my photo editing software (Ulead Photoimpact). And since this is a Day/night match, the screenshots look more brighter.

Game hangs on a precarious balance!

NEW ZEALAND 51% INDIA 49% - INDIA NEED 96 OFF 96 BALLS!
A.Jadeja 45*
D.Vettori 2/32(9)

As it is, the game stands on a precarious balance with the result still to go either side. Out of 100%, New Zealand would get 51% probability of a victory just because Rahul Dravid, the wall has been broken by Daniel Vettori. The decision by the umpire seemed controversial as the ball looked to be just missing leg stump. Dravid tried to play a ball on the leg stump, to the leg side but got rapped on the pads and the umpire had no hesitation raising the finger. And hawk eye TV replays also prove inconclusive. However from Dravid's reaction seemed to say that the ball could have missed the leg stump.

Ajay Jadeja at the other end is playing some delightful strokes which are reminding the Indian viewers of his peak form in the 90's when he used to tear into top international bowling attacks. The shot of the innings however, was a advance square drive which flew off his bat straight over the boundary for a six.

Mahendra Singh Dhoni has accompanied Jadeja. If Jadeja remains till the end or until the last 20 runs to win, India can be assured that they will register their second victory. New Zealand on the other hand would very well know that though on top, they have to snare Ajay Jadeja to thwart any chances of an Indian victory.

Still anybody's game. According to the IST, its 10am now and the Indian viewers must be fervently logging on to know how their team is faring. Well, its anybody's game still!

Shall I take your contest entry as India for the winner of this match?

MOM : Jadeja
Winner : India
I hav a feeling that this one will be a real humdinger !

India need 88 runs at 5.87 per over!

India require 88 runs off 90 balls!

A fruitful 35th over saw India bringing the required run rate down to less than run a ball. Ajay Jadeja has reached his first 50 after his return to international cricket. A truly sparkling innings by him under immense pressure. Supporting him at the other end is the Jharkhand lad, MS Dhoni who rose to fame with a swashbuckling 148 against Pakistan at Jamshedpur in the recently concluded series.

India require 88 off 90 balls at 5.87 per over. Still everything to play for both teams.

The contest is still open and will be open until the 40th over update is posted by me. So, hurry up and post your prediction on the winner and the man of the match soon for you to win reputation points!

Wow this game will certainly go down to the wire :)

Yes it might go down to the wire!!

India require 82 runs off 84 balls!
MS Dhoni 13*
Ajay Jadeja 54*

After 35 overs, its 181/5 and 82 more runs needed. Only two balls seperates the required runs from the balls remaining as India are in a better position at the moment than what they were when Rahul Dravid fell. Dhoni is starting to find his feet. He hit a very handsome boundary in the previous over off Styris. If he can support Jadeja for sometime, India can inch closer to a second win of the tournament!

India need to keep wickets in hand now, whilst taking the 1's and 2's.

India ahead at the moment!

70 runs to win off 72 balls - 5.83 per over needed!
MS Dhoni 18*
Ajay Jadeja 55*

A fightback is coming up in the form of Mahendra Singh Dhoni who is looking to attack the New Zealand bowlers as India are ahead of terms of the required run rate. Dhoni, who is a hard hitting batsman, played a few very good shots and is right now providing adequate support to Ajay Jadeja.

dhonishot8kk.jpg

New Zealand are also not helped by their bowlers and fielders as Cairns who was brought in to the attack, gave away 8 runs including a bye given by Mc Mullum which went away for four! India ahead now and New Zealand need a wicket now.
