West Indies in England

Bowling wise it was a good performance. The batting wasnt particularly great. Yes I know the conditions werent the best but still a little bit of application was required and was lacking.
Heh? I didn't watch the game but it looked like the batsmen applied themselves well but were not able to accelerate. The West Indies batsmen did not apply themselves because they were back in the pavilion before they really had a chance to get in.

wooooo...i won a ticket to see the match on wednesday through a a prize draw...boo yeah...

yeah i do...gonna fly over just to see the match...lol...nah live in pontefract which is near leeds...so it's about 1hour 45minutes journey to Edgbaston...

Talking of tickets I just got the ECB email..."Tickets left for tommorow, get down here! Tickets are just £55 per person." Get stuffed.

And £5 for Ducks!

Drew, have you got a thing for Sexy Benitez now? He looks like the bodyguard that Peter Kay portrays in phoenix nights!

The prices are ludicrous though, it's getting as bad as football. Personally if I was paying that I'd demand to know where that money was going, if it was going to help youth cricket, etc.

The bubbly at the Shareholders' meeting :D

Why were there 2 English umpires officiating? I thought umpires couldn't umpire in matches involving their home country?

i thought that too.....maybe it only applies in test matches now? Dont know TBH!

Dont u just love that ad!

lol. 'tis a good ad

No, it also applies to ODIs. That's why Simon Taufel didn't officiate in this year's World Cup final

oh yh...thats right! Otherwise, he would be the first choice to officiate! But then why did 2 englsihmen officiate in that game then...im confused!

For Tests, both umpires must be neutral.
For ODIs, one umpire must be neutral, except in ICC tournaments where both umpires must be neutral.
For Twenty20 Internationals, there is no requirement to use neutral umpires, except in ICC tournaments where both umpires must be neutral.

Oh, Brian Jerling is South African. I thought he was English.

England did well in the CB Series in the last few games.

They did indeed, however, they weren't THAT dominant. They looked fully in control and ended up winning by a large margin in this case.

And about Cook. He did well early, but that shot he played was pretty silly. Plus he didn't do anything special and didn't bowl. I guess scoring out of 10 can differ depending on who does it, but I see a 5 as being average considering it;s in the middle. I can't say Cook performed above average.

In the early overs though Rampaul and Powell did bowl well and in those conditions a good start was imperative, if we'd have lost one of the openers early I doubt we'd have got over 200.
