West Indies in England

Last ODI 15 March 2003....

:D

Legspinner I don't think Rabeta was being serious thus all the .........s at the end.

Anyone know when the squad is named? Normally on the Friday before is it not?

squads usually announced on the sunday before the test at 12pm .

Yep its tomorrow, then the speculating can stop.

Presuming Vaughan and KP are out, which it looks like it will be, I'd have

Cook
Strauss
Bell
Shah
Collingwood
Flintoff
Prior
Hoggard
Harmison
Panesar
Anderson

It would be very beneficial actually to play a game without Vaughan and Pietersen, gives some other guys a chance to stake a claim. Also, puts the pressure on the batsmen not to rely on KP.

we've played 15 games without Vaughan! I think that's enough!

The real downside of Vaughan and KP being injured is that we still can't solve the Bell/Collingwood dilemma.

..........and if Tres can ever tour of course.

I'm waiting for the announcement :D It's normally in the morning, damn you Virgin Media for losing SkySports News!

Rob Key's in a bit of good nick; Call up perhaps? Hit 169 in the Kent vs Durham game.

It appears I was wrong SS, hope you weren't waiting too long:p. I'm 100% sure someone on sky sports news etc. said it was today. But BBC Sport says it'll be announced on Sunday.

Oh well...it's not like I've checked the ECB site half a dozen times or anything....

And his double ton did come against the WIndies....

But then if KP and Vaughan are fit then the team picks itself, at least the batting does anyway.

Strauss
Cook
Vaughan
KP
Bell
Flintoff

?

It brings up the Colly or Bell argument again, yay!

I hope not against the West Indies, I think batting to 7 will be fine against an attack like the West Indies.
It all depends what you call batting. The available selection of keepers isn't a selection of international class no. 7s. Whatever, I think they will be fine against the Windies as you say, but the emphasis on batting to 8 was because you can't just throw a guy in the middle order and call them a batsman.
