West Indies in England

i think risking vaughan would be a mistake..

His finger obviously is still broken, it would only take one hit on his finger and he'd end up mising half the summer...(again)..why risk it?

I'd be more worried about risking KP tbh, fingers heal easily, you rarely have more than 4 weeks off with a break or re-break. Calf's on the other hand can re-occur like an annoying headache.

On the subject of batting down to 8, I'd pick Plunkett as 4th seamer. He's got a fair amount of talent with the bat as shown in the ODI's where he has a decent record and against Flintoff the other day where he was carting him around Durham.

He also took (5/105) today. Along with Hoggy (5/34) and Harmy (4/75). So the seam bowling department looks in good nick.

I think so too Kenni.

Strauss
Cook
KP
Vaughan
Bell/Colly
Flintoff
Nixon/Prior (probably Nixon)
Plunkett
Harmison
Panesar
Hoggard

Fair enough team? Looks good to me.

I think we should pick Anderson over Plunkett though. I think Plunkett went into internationals quickly and his action has fallen apart a lot. He's not a bad option though.

Good to me, except I would drop Vaughan (Tough Call:boxing). And play the two ginger tops. Plunkett is a good choice, because he can swing the ball a mile! And why not go with Nixon aye? Hes good for the England team I reckon.

I would drop Vaughn also,he isnt in that greater form apart from the game against the Windies,I really hope that Paul Nixon is given a test berth,he really deserves it and age doesnt mean a thing its all about skill, talent and hard work.

Paul Nixon is far from the most skilled and talented keeper-batsman we have, he just shouldn't be playing. Sure, he works bloody hard, but you need more than that in test cricket.

It is time for Prior to play. Also, if Prior gets picked, it could mean we play Flintoff at 7, which is probably his correct position in test cricket.

Why cant we have both Bell and Collingwood playing?

I'd say stick both in...If Vaughan and KP are fit, stick 'em in to.

I feel i still wouldnt have Harmsion...I think its time to give Anderson some authority to play his game without the risk of losing his place. I think reserve bowlers would obviously be Plunkett and Harmison, but i think we should play with just a 3 main line bowling attack, Fletchers gone, lets change it around a little and be brave!

Theres no way on Earth we need to bat down to 8 against the West Indies. Harmison is in fantastic form, not selecting him could damage his confidence. I would be more worried about the West Indies batting than bowling, therefore we can't afford to go in with 4 bowlers.

Well looks good news that evo, though I would like us to be playing the Windies best side, never like playing sides without one of their best players...

I do, it makes it easier to win. Winning is what counts as i'm sure Lee will back me up. ;)

The Windies squad not really in order, i'm not overly confident of there order but with Vaughan looking doubtful that would be my England Eleven!
