Good progress by the England boys. Another hundred by 'The Chef' liked the lineup but would have had Shah at 6 with KP,Colly, Bell and then Owais.
Strauss-Will be kicking himself!! Getting out to a half volley outside off stump isn't good.
Cook-Great innings! Went quietly about his business and is still in.
Shah-Nevr looked settled and didnt deserve more than 6 unfortunately.
Pietersen-Agressive innings with a few nice shots. Threw his wicket away though
Collingwood-Looked a little edgy but he is still there.

what is good is that we're without the captain and Freddie for this match.

Alastair Cook is a fantastic player, I saw highlights of his innings when I was at home during the lunch break and some of the shots he played would have been good enough against any bowler.
I hope England don't win before Sunday though because I am at work every day until then!

Why risk an amazing Captain? how can you call him what you just have, Yorkshire wouldnt want to risk him, neither England. Hes Finding some form in the counties lets get him back 100%, you don't play the wounded!

Whats Shah playing for hes pants, Cook and Tressy = Englands Best Attack

Marcus Trescothick is arguably better than Owais Shah but he ruled himself out of the first test, and with Michael Vaughan injured Shah is a good player to have in the team.
His only other test was against India last year, where he scored 88 in his first innings.

i remember his amazing backward point 4's, Trescothick shouldn't come into the game's yet. Another 3 weeks of counties should be enough without injury's. Somerset have arguably the best openers in the Division Langer and Tressy
