West Indies in England

He's not in the hall of fame.
And two, Cassano is right.
Lots of players have scored hundreds in their first few games and its come to nothing. Dont get so carried away.

That was some innings from Prior...shot's all over the place, positive, improvised in some places and overall a great innings. and at a strike rate of 95. Great stuff :D

how did i miss all that? What a day, you kind of sensed Bell and Colly would both perform so they don't help the selection issue :p but i really didn't expect that from Prior! Still we shouldn't get too far ahead of ourselves but you can only play what you're put up against. I guess that confirms Fred would be batting further down now,i wasn't worried about our batting though, it's what Harmy turns up and how Plunkett goes i'm interested in.

Im not sure which hundred was better, Colly had up and down points but was as lucky as a, well i dont know what, by far the lukiest innings ive seen on English soil. Bell, faultless mainly, well played cover drives, cuts, everything, oh and his late cutting is amazingly good. Cook, the one who started it, he was powerful, bullied the bowlers and got his just dessert, wonderful player, great opener! Lastly is the WK Prior, well he was aggresive and dominated bowlers, he saw the bowlers where tiring and produced the kind of debut innings which will keep selectors licking there lips for games, glad Duncan fletcher isnt in there now else we'd see Jones and Read called back up :p

Like i said, not sure which one was better but im leaning to Cook's as he started the WI rot. The bowlers started to tire and heads went down late on, i would expect a declaration overnight, has it been done yet? If not overnight give it a few overs in the morning just so the batsmen get a feel for the conditions and give Harmy and Hoggy some tips....

The 100s are just flowing all over the place. Prior is a good talent can't believe it has taken England this long to get him in there. That middle order of England is starting to look decent with KP, Collingwood, and Bell and Vaughan to be added to number 3.

Huge score here. England in strong position.

I watched a pediod of about an hour. I have to honestly say, that is some of the worst test bowling i've ever seen. Constantly short and wide and after the new ball was taken, I saw 1 play and a miss. Catches went down early and stuff. West Indies just havn't been on their A game.

Really? Because I saw about 50 (from Collingwood alone)

The windies bowlers didn't at the stumps. Simple as.

All England need now is for Shah to do well and thats vaughan's final nail to the coffin. If the bowlers do well then flintoff will struggle to get into the team. That way he'll work harder to get back into the team and hopefully improve so much he might live up to "greatest all-rounder". This is what i hope anyway. Finally, Bell at 6. I've made myself hoarse trying to convince those who listen to me to put him there... i'm surprised by Prior. He should stay where he is and play the gilchrist type innings. I can see a future Australian team in the making here. But in saying that the opposition (WI) weren't playing very well.

Cook (Langer)
Strauss (Hayden)
Pieterson (Ponting)
Bell (Martyn)
Collingwood (Hussey)
Insert Steve Waugh wannabe! Vaughan?
Prior (Gilchrist)
Plunkett/Anderson/Mahmood (Brett Lee)
Monty (Shane warne)
Hoggard (Gillespie)
Harminson (Mcrgrath cough)

Lol in other words they need to find their own steve waugh and Brett lee...

Strauss isn't in the same class as Hayden. That's who Cook should be covering. The way his playing now, just imigane how good he'll be when he reaches 30.

And where's Flintoff's spot?

Prior.....Good to see another englishman in the team LOL. If only these Saffers could teach the real englishmen how to play positive test cricket....id rather watch soccer than watch Cook, Collingwood or Bell bat.

Yawn!

He may have been born in South Africa but he's represented England at every level and was Educated at Brighton College. Everytime someone represents a country that they werent born in you see comments like these. Get over it, it happens the world over.
