West Indies in England

In fairness though, Hoggard didn't look very penetrative before he pulled up either.

Yes but that was a short spell. Everyone's gunna have their bad spells and did. I just think in that middle period, when Harmison and Plunkett weren't bowling well, he could have produced a decent spell.

Harmison disappointed everyone today

i think monty will be VERY dangerous in the 4th innings

Other than that this pitch is too flat and slow....

no wonder 4 englishmen got centuries but u have to give credit to the batsmen

We struggled with just three font line bowlers for most of the day (Plunkett, Panesar and Collingwood :p). Need to clean them up tommorow and get a lead of 450 and have a nibble at the openers at the end of the day. We might struggle to bowl them out second time round though.

this match is going to draw
So far this Test has seen days of 56, 86 and 98 overs. The game is still effectively 1 session down and there's still some chance of rain and a certainty of bad light towards the end of at least one the remaining days.

A draw is a very real concern, with six sessions left and more than two innings to play; England must bat again, for at least one session even if WI were bowled out instantly, so if the Windies hold out tomorrow morning, England will be looking to dig deep.

It's not a giant score in progress, but it is reasonable, more than reasonable for a contest. Gayle, Sarwan, Bravo and Ramdin gave chase heartily, acknowledging the dwindling of remaining time, while Ganga and Chanderpaul dropped anchor. If the West Indian fielding was tighter, perhaps England's score would be less impressive, but the spin of Panesar has been an important advantage. On the other hand, Panesar aside, the English pacemen have struggled as much, if not moreso than their opponents.

Going to be a tough ask for this game to going anywhere else but a draw right now. Scoring 360 in a day is a good effort just a shame not one of the Windies batters could convert to a 100.

Looks like this match will be ending in a draw,Monty bowled quite nicely picking up four wickets.

To be fair, i know he was once the best quick in the world, but Harmison is just like carrying pointless wieght, he isnt bowling particularily well and persists to give Matty Prior legside workout. It must be difficult to get all his body moving in tandem, hes a big guy, but he's had ample warm up with the county game and should be firing, IMO, if Hoggard is out, its going to be a Plunkers, Anderson, Mahmood, Panesar attack, dunno about Mahmood, maybe they'll go with someone else,

This is a bit regionalist here, but i'd like to see Tom Smith be chucked in :p Never going to happen i know

Harmison has taken 27 wkts @ 13 in the county championship this season. As such he IS the LEADING wicket taker in England this summer..

The reason ALL fast bowler are struggling is because, despite the ball hooping around the picth is slow. We went thru this last summer, then we played on a fast pitch and Harmy wiped Pakistan out.

We should be producing faster-bouncier pitches to suit our bowling.

I agree about the pitch but that doesn't excuse the way both Harmison and Plunkett are spraying it about. Maybe we need to make them wear Durham shirts...

Tom Smith should be no where near an England shirt this summer. He's definitely one for the future but suggesting a call up for him now is ludicrous.

Harmison has too many on and outside leg stumo where as the other bowlers were just outside offstump and didn't pose problems, Monty bowled well though.

Why are the commentaitors so shocked that Ramdin made runs yesterday? They were making out that he was nothing more then a mere tailender.
