West Indies in England

Hoggard will be fit, and for him not to be playing at headingly would be stupid(cant wait because im going)!

play 5 bowlers, 2 spinners the 3 pace and Collingwood is the all rounder

Well, I doubt he'll recover from a strain that quickly. Besides anything they'll probably rest him. Moores has shown he's not going to play those unless they are 100% fit, and why risk him when he's so important to the rest of our summer and winter tour?
Let the man recover to 100% then bring him back.

He has a week, he should play. I'f hes not going to play then id like to see Someone young in the squad, they need experiance. Bresnan of yorkshire, an amazing bowler and batter, hit 100 in the LVCCDV1 this year vs suzzex i think

A week to recover from a muscle injury? Don't be so ignorant all of the time.
Bresnan? Great county player, not good enough at International level. Got pasted by the Sri Lankans in a one day series last year, one dayers supposedly being his stronger suit.
You also need to look past Yorkshire.
They should call up Broad, but as he's injured it becomes harder to see who'd they'd call up, although I imagine it'd be Graham Onions as Peter Moores seems to like the look of him.

i hope graham gets a game known him since he was 8..

talented sportsman..

I've not really seen much of him. He has seemed reasonable, but you can never really tell till they've played international level.

I'd be tempted to bring in someone like Dalrymple or Loudon tbh. All our pace bowlers are injured so we may as well play a second spinner.

Loudon would be my choice but you are further off the mark than a legless sprinter.

We could play second spinner, no point in JD though as we might aswell just use KP/Vaughan, he really is that un-threatening imo. I wonder who Englands second spinner would be? Rashid would be tempting but he is young. Loudon offers something different and could be useful in that way.

hoggy defo will NOT be fit..

Are you qualified to say this, neither am I.

Hmmm......

5 bowlers? No thanks. Headingley should be more bowler friendly than Lords and hopefully the groundsman will make it suit spin and bounce.

2 changes.

Anderson and Vaughan in. Shah and Hoggard out.

Hoggard will have 5 and a bit days to recover from a torn groin. Not going to happen. He might be in the squad with cover (like Onions) but I doubt he'd complete a fitness test.

Hardly comes under the word 'amazing', decent, talented, England quality? No. Where did the z's come from?

Vaughan should no way come in to replace Shah. Lets see him play some county matches first. If Shah gets dropped after one test for a guy who hasn't played test cricket for nearly 2 years its just crazy.

Rashid would be tempting but he is young.

I say give Rashid a season first before thinking about himne for international cricket.
JD is now becoming unthreating and less used in ODI's.
Giles is injured and Loudon has an average of over 40 in FC cricket.
We don't have another spinner at the moment.

We have no stand out spinners bar Monty, and young Rashid.
But Rashid is too young.
We don't want another Schofield incident.

Young guys should be given chances for sure, but it is tough to chop and change a lot in Test cricket, it is very much a team game and you need to find a good team balance and stick to it when you are winning. Obviously you didn't win this time but looked good for most of it anyway suggesting that England is not as doomed as it looked after Australia beat them 5-0. I am sure that the English can do well in this series, but the key is to try and find your best XI and stick to it. Shah is a good prospect, and shouldn't be dropped, but if Vaughan is ready to come in he could bring some team stability in the leadership area, although not so much in the batting area, but you did well enough last game in your batting so it might not matter.

why do people call shah at "prospect"..he's been around for 10yrs..he's 28 yrs old..

he's missed the boat..
