West Indies in England

Crikey suddenly the Second test is under 48 hours away! I expect Flintoff and Sidebottom to be the men to miss out. I wouldn't be dissapointed if Sidebottom played though.

I prefer we pick on ability to take wickets, not cos tey give variety..

otherwise you'd pick:

1 Right arm fast
1 Left arm fast
1 offspinner
1 legspinner
1 Slow left authodox

if the best 4 bowlers are right armer's then they should play.

Oh I definitely agree but if Flintoff is not fit it does give us another option. But more important then the change in angle from the left-armer is that he can probably bowl a fairly consistent line and length which is what we need.

I'm just wondering how we ended up the whole Durham pace attack vying for England places.
Time to recall Gough and Caddick :p

Gough is having the time of his life!

its amazing all the players that have been on a dancing show that have won recently are cricketers and have come back amazing

Gough hasn't done amazing.
He hasn't taken loads of wickets.
Your only saying he's done amazing because he's captained a side thats winning.

I can't remember, but if this test is at Headingly, I would probably play Sidebottom, him being a swing bowler.

Prior was in poor form before the first test... Not that I agree with the selection. Shreck or Onions would have been much better choices in my opinion, but I suppose Left-arm seam gives a bit of variety and should be pretty reliable.

I think that if we secure the series victory with a game to spare we should play Rashid. I know people say he is not ready but Warne had barely played First Class cricket before his first test. If he is mentally ready now then I say introduce him.

I agree with that a lot

When we feild i usualy only hope someone like ALista cook gets injured but can still bat so David Platt or Lee Hodgeson can come on and do some of there amazing feilding:)

Hoggard is now ruled out of the 2nd test according to BBC.

He must mean Flintoff, Dalek has a habit in his short time of mixing up names....

So basically then Anderson, Sidebottom and *sigh* dare I say Panesar are vying for two places.

Probably more likely a straight shootout between Anderson and Sidebottom. I may be alone but I reckon that Sidebottom should play. We need some consistency in our attack, plus he gives good variety. He's 29 btw, as I'm sure people think he's mid 30s.

Think Fletcher might have dropped Monty but I don't think Moores will... (famous last words).
I don't think we can afford to have Anderson, Harmison and Plunkett all mis-firing in the same team so I'd give the nod to shaggy.

wow william shakespeare can play cricket aswell?

(just me?)

lol, you'd scream if you got dropped after taking a bag of wickets.

I don't see how England can take a pace attack that isn't a roll of the dice, so they may as well make as many changes as possible. Plunkett out, Anderson and Sidebottom in and put Harmison on notice, after all, he's at home, with no ODI commitments to weaken him and not bowling against one of the strongest teams. In the last few years, Harmison has spent almost as much time being a large quantity of carry-on luggage as being a useful member of the team.

If England are at the point where they'll persist so strongly with someone as green as Plunkett, then maybe its time to clean out all of the cobwebs.

your too much of a cricket nerd for your own good

i knew someone would search and find someone and it just happened to be you

If you had searched for it, you would have got the same result! Andrew probably knows nothing more about cricket than what anybody else could obtain easily.
