I the guyz who like vista looks use Brico Vista pack it doesn't make system slower at all. but the one I had use before made my system lot of slow

I agree with Harrypotter. Having a shot at Vista when buying a new PC or laptop is way better than trying to upgrade your current PC's OS to Vista. And for the Vista looks, you have Windows Blinds and the other softwares to simulate the theme/look, etc.

I got a similar laptop to that of Harrypotter (in fact I have 256MB video RAM) and Vista is a breeze on it (more so after the SP1 update).

@ Kshitz or @ Abhas: Do you guys know on how to disable the "Administrator permission" thing that comes up whenever you open a program or an unidentified program? I dont mind it, but it would be a more better experience for me if I could disable it. I heard Kev saying somewhere that it can be disabled.

open start menu, type msconfig, press enter

in the system configuration window, click on the 'Tools' tab.

scroll down, and there will be an option saying : Disable UAC.
select that, and click on launch.

then click OK.

There you go.. u're rid of that annoying feature ;)

You might have to restart the system after that.

Also, if you ever want it back (can't imagine why :p), there is the option of Enable UAC in the same window :)

But in 98 i cannot see any option of virtual memory settings.
