1st Test: England v Australia

Swanny now has an average of 50 which means he must be in the top 3 of averages?

I can understand maybe the odd no-ball for a spinner in an innings but Hauritz has bowled at least 4 in this innings. Shocking.

Batted boys. I still think we'll lose though; it's what we're good at.

How does a spinner bowl so many no-balls? So annoying. At least it didn't cost us much.

England tail batted excellent, really took the attack to us. Not to mention the pitch is starting to do a bit - Spinning and keeping a bit low at times. This won't be easy.

Monty :noway. Needed 10 runs and to stick around for Swann to hit 100 off 60 balls.

Our runrate has been 4.07

I reckon Hilfy or Siddle were definately the best bowler of the innings.

Haurtiz was okay. He isn't terrible like many of us were expecting. But when Monty and Swann rip through the Aussies on this pitch, people will look at Hauritz and ask why he couldn't do what they did.

Hilfy was Aussies best bowler of the innings. Good stuff from him. Johnson looked off his game and Siddle conceded too many runs. Great. Now for Jimmy, Broady & Freddie to have a go at the Aussie top order. Should be very interesting indeed.

Its not funny now how the Aussies have started letting the tailenders pile on runs against them.

If we have a look at their test matches since Warne and McGrath`s retirement (starting with the 2007/8 India in Australia tour to the current test) we`ll find that this has become a very regular occurrence.

The infamous SCG test saw Harbhajan putting on more than hundred runs with Tendulkar and Harbhajan scored 66 himself. In the immediate next test at Perth, RP Singh put on 75-odd with Laxman and scored a 35. The last test at Adelaide saw Harbhajan and Kumble both scoring big and putting on a century stand with Bhajji scoring 63 and Kumble (87).
The next test series against India in India now. Zaheer and Harbhajan both scored half-centuries and rescued India from a situation where almost 200-odd runs behind. Australia were never in the hunt in the series ever since. In the final test at Nagpur, Harbhajan again scored a 60 odd after coming into bat with the game in the balance. Australia lost the test and the series 2-0

Now looking at the home series against SA, they let Steyn put on a mammoth partnership with Duminy at the MCG and SA won the test after being way behind in that test at one stage. Now Swann and Anderson in this game have continued the trend.

Just shows how Australia seriously lack someone who can polish off the tail.
