1st Test India vs Pakistan

Hey Zim,
Can you tell me more about this editor. Rangeela and I decided to have defensive field set after 15 overs. But the problem is whenever new bowler comes it sets the fielding to attacking or moderate. It becomes nagging to sweep the team and field everytime that happens. Also when the wicket falls, same thing happens. Is there any way around. I mean can we set up the defensive field set up once for all????

The match was restarted as suggested by all and agreed by both of us.
India didnt bat impressively. In an effort to mount an assault on quality bowling, they lost wickets too quick and too early.
But their star batsman Sachin Tendulkar lived up to billion people expectations. He amassed 133 out of 76 balls featuring fine 23 fours and one towering sixer on pull.
The middle order crubled as Sidhu would say in commentory box.
The fall like bicycles on stands. One starts falling others fall very fast.
Mohammad Kaif and Kumble showed some resistance but two inswinging yorkers of Waquar Unis uprooted their off stump.

Day one is over as marked with 50 overs. The defensive field were set up in over 16 and 17.
When bowler was changed or wicket felt, AI was allowed to pick its field set up.

So Indian posts total of 369.
Now pakistan will play.

Waqar Younis: I am very disappointed with our batting performance. I think Afridi and Akram played a fabulous inning to keep us close in the match. Harbhajan Singh was superb. He bowled exceptionally and dismissed our best batsman. We still have 3 more days in the game and our goal would be now not to give away too many runs on the board and try to take some early wickets with the new ball.

Summary: Pakistan all out for 335 in 47 overs. There are still 3 more overs left for a close of Day 2 play. India lead by 34 runs.

Rangeela this is all very encouraging stuff :ice: It seems we have found a formula for making tests realistic  could you send me the field editor (by Rippon isn't it?), the version I have doesn't work properly, but if you could e-mail me it at [email protected] that would be fantastic. Could you send me your test matxh field files aswell if its not too much to ask? Me and Lisle are doing the fifty over thing, but not with defensive field settings, but it looks to me like you have it spot on B) Good work guys

thanks
sonic :ice:

Sonic - forgotten about this thread and have only just seen your reply - sorry :wall:

Will send you the editor soon - typing this from work so will do it tonight as long as I can blummin remember ;)

Hi sonic,

I have emailed you the field editor version 1.
Well we didnt use that in out test match so I cannot send you the field setting for the test.
The problem I have is with that is i get to pick the field setting for 9 players but I get error message when I try to save the new field settings. It could be I dont have it under right directory?... in read me file there isnt much help may be you can figure it out where exactly to place the directory. IN readme file it states to open the field setting with config extension...which I am completely lost about that.
see if you can figure it out or maybe Phil(zim) knows and than sachida and I can definately use that in our next test.
thx

Ganguly is very encouraged by the bowling performance by their spinners. The bowl is turning very well and awkward bounce is what Kumble is likely to explore when Pakistan bats next. But first things first. Ganguly has asked for more disciplined batting and pragmatic approach from all batters. They will like to extend their lead to 500 and try to take the advantage of worn out pictch on the last day.

Sachida,

I have figured it out why we both are getting diffrent lineup when we start the 2nd inning. when using player editor there is 3 lineup you can set for test matches. When I saw the india and Pak ctm fiel thru the lineup editor both teams had diffrent lineup in 3 test lineups. I think in order for this to work is setup the same lineup for all 3 test lineup so even if computer picks the default lineup we will get the same lineup we picked.

let me know if I should start my inning since I am also getting a diffrent lineup as well
thx
rangeela
