Oh and good pick in Zaheer Abbas. Some damn fine picks being made - we must be all smart...

And...do we wanna ditch Stinky ASAP and bring in King Cricket? Or give him the rest of the day to show up? You guys decide, I'm heading to bed :)

My next pick is Andy Roberts. He was part of the pace quartet that destroyed batting line ups worldwide so he really needs no introduction. He used variation to perfection and was a very good thinking bowler. One of his more famous ploys is the 2 bouncer ploy. The first bouncer was not that fast and dealt with quite easily by the batsman. This was to lure the batsman into a false sense of security. He would then deliver a much faster and fiercer second bouncer that caught out most batsmen. In just 56 ODIs he took 87 wickets at an average of 20.35 and at a stifling economy rate of 3.40. He also had a very impressive strike rate of 33.8. I think he will form a good trio with Dennis Lillee and Kapil Dev.

Matthew Hayden (AUSTRALIA)

Kapil Dev (INDIA)

Andy Roberts (WEST INDIES)

Malcolm Marshall

Delighted that this guy is still available in the draft. My favourite of the West Indies Quicks of the 70's and 80's. I believe Andy Roberts is the superior bowler, but Marshall was seriously good himself. Marshall took 157 wickets in his ODi career at a very healthy average of 26.96. He tailed off slightly in the '90's when he was past his prime, but his record in '83, '84, '86, '87, '88 and '91 was exceptional. Really does help add to the bowling attack and makes my side look even more impressive. Loving my team tbh.

This is moving along rather quickly all of a sudden. :D

My pick is Abdul Qadir.

Players picked so far:

Sachin Tendulkar
Brian Lara
Michael Holding
Shane Bond
Zaheer Abbas
Abdul Qadir

Surely TumTum might as well make his pick? Stinky's not going to be on for a while I wouldn't imagine, so we might as well get on with the draft and let him make his picks when he returns.

Akhtar, Marshall, Imran, Flintoff, Kallis and I've still got 2 spots free for bowlers. Have that.

Akhtar is a good pick, I'll admit that but he couldn't sustain it.
Marshall wasn't anywhere near as devastating in ODI cricket as he was in Test cricket. Dennis on the other hand adapted much better to the format.
Imran Khan. I'm not going to lie. I would have loved to have had him in my team. Second best ODI all rounder, and you have the first.
Flintoff, good all rounder but I think he weakens your batting line up as you already have Imran in the top 5. Two batsmen with an average below 35 in the top 7 doesn't make for good reading.

Vass
Waqar
Murali
McGrath

Vaas was a pretty silly pick by you if I'm honest. There were far better options available when he was chosen.
Can't argue with Waqar, Murali and McGrath. However, Roberts and Lillee is just as good as Waqar and McGrath especially considering that Lillee was the best fast bowler ever. There's not much separating Murali and Saqlain. Finally, you don't have a fifth option, which is a must in ODI cricket.

Agreed with KP. Skip Stinky. He's hardly ever on anyways.

Can someone tweaking update the first post? It's sort of your job Cricketman. I'm sure sifter or myself would do it but we don't have that power. I'm getting tired of trying to remember which players have already been picked.

Let's finish this round and then we'll wait for either Stinky or KC to make their pick.

Shane Watson

5th option this Shravi :laugh

Despite not being a big name, he is a pretty decent bowler with a SR of 34.
