Australia Tour Of India 2012/13

Tendulkar is playing a game of luck and chance, come on Pa break his middle stump in half!

I think Tendulkar is up for this series, usually it is about scoring runs, but this is about dominating his favourite opponent.

True man. Has been such a chancy knock so far, has`nt it?

Back to today`s game, a very even day with Australia slightly ahead. Pujara`s wicket has put India slightly on the backfoot. I don`t think we should be relying too much on those to follow here. The Aussie pace attack might be too hot to handle for the lower order. Pattinson bowling just 6 overs out of the 50 was a big surprise but I can see whats the thought process behind that given his injury prone past.

Kohli and Pujara have both looked a part, so thats a real positive for India. Its time we blood in Rahane and Tiwari in there and see how they react to the challenge.

Usually Dhoni is the one criticised for his negative captaincy. Can't say that's not true but seeing Clarke's field placings,it could be said that if your bowling is not doing anything, you look helpless. Also was Starc really bowling round the wicket to prevent footmarks? This is ridiculous if they are thinking so far ahead.

Really impressed with Patttinson but why was he given only two super short spells is beyond me.The bowler which looked most threatening was given only 6 overs.

Lyon is not bowling good at all.He is not being helped by all the easy singles on offer either.Commentators were saying about settling your spin bowler but how on earth is he gonna settle if you let batsmen just push it around for singles ?

Good to see Tendulkar among runs.Still even at the moment this game.

Classy stuff from Sachin! The way he was batting, it was Melbourne all over again. This time he didn't get out before stumps, which makes things hopefully look ominous for the Aussies. His love affair with Chennai continues. Oh god, why didn't you ever give me the opportunity to watch my favorite hero dominate my home ground?

Tomorrow the ground should be jam packed. When Sachin bats in Chennai, even a weekday gets full. This is a Sunday, and he is batting on 71. Back to the game, I thought Pujara looked real good and it was a waste of a wicket. I expected Australia's tail to wag for sometime, but I know that anything less than 400 on this wicket was not going to be enough. Its not a sharp turner, just a slow turner. Last time, India chased 387 against England at Chennai in 2008. This one might be similar too. Australia need to keep tab on that game, when they make decisions.

This is so far so awesome!! Fun cricket so far!!

I don't see how you can say that, especially after seeing Jadeja out perform Harbhajan.

I meant Bhajji was going play this test for definite. So, they could have accommodated Ojha in place of Jadeja because we already have Ashwin doing better than Jadeja with the bat and Bhajji can bat a bit too. We could have had an extra specialist spinner.

A lot of ppl are questioning MSD's faith in Bhajji. Even Laxman said so on air. But, the truth is Harbhajan harldy troubled any batsmen out there. I'd have to go with MSD in not giving the ball to Bhajji. MAybe, for the next test India could do with another spinner-though the likelihood of Ojha playing seems low here.

Good day of cricket. Murli Vijay's dismissal was a funny one. He was so late on the shot that he could not even move his feet. I felt Sehwag was unlucky. Pujara did a good job in that partnership with Sachin. It is also nice to see Sachin back in runs but for me the most important thing was to see Kohli getting runs. Kohli did struggle against England and was not in form even in ODI so it was important for him to get that 50 and hopefully now he can continue to build that inning. I have to agree that Pattinson was bowling beautifully. He was bowling with pace (almost reached 150) and the ball was doing just enough with the new ball to help.

Hoping for a cracking day tomorrow!

Harbhajan was bowling so shitty on the first day so it was obvious Dhoni would not start with him. However, he was bowling better today in that short spell.

P.S Laxman is horrible in commentary, Gangully any day!

^ Yes, he has that thick accent but I don't think he can do anything about it because it is not his fault.

The only reason I can think of is because he breaks down every time he gets longer spells. And he is also coming back from injury which might be the reason as well.

Yep.Just saying.

He is indeed like a precious entity. But there was a span of 20 overs between his 2 spells.Surely that's too long. Also, immediately after Pujara was out,I thought they missed a trick by not continuing Pattinson.

There is a very fine line between preservation and underutilization.I thought it was the latter in this case.

I agree too! Laxman's commentary was at times very hard to listen to. He does not have a polished English to be sitting in the commentary box and talk about the game for hours. He is not a Ganguly or a Dravid who can speak fluently and better.

On Harbhajan, he didn't bowl well enough and Dhoni was right in not using him enough. I am not blaming Dhoni on that.

Looking at Tendulkar's wagon wheel I am not too happy. Much like Dhoni gave easy singles to Henriques, I feel Clarke has given Tendulkar an easy ride thus far. He doesn't deserve ALL the blame, because the bowling has been too short and straight letting him work easy singles to leg. But Tendulkar has only hit 6 boundaries, and 3 of those were in the first 4 balls he faced! Rest of the time, he's been working singles, working singles and working more singles. 34 singles to him: a few each to third man, deep point, deep long on. The rest through square on leg side.

Starc always comes round the wicket when the balls reversing. He likes straightening the ball down the line. Don't think it had anything to do with footmarks.

And yeah Pattinson...it you're bowling 3 over spells, you should be able to do 2 of those per session. He should be on 12 overs bowled by now. Has to be him and Siddle this morning while the ball is reversing.

Oh,allright.I read it in the twitter comments section of test match sofa earlier.I was just wondering whether it was indeed true.
