Australia Tour Of India 2012/13

^ Mukund, Rayudu, Patel, Awana, Uthappa, Mandeep, Shami Ahmed - I've heard of all those guys so it must be at least CLOSE to India B standard...:p

Credit to Rassol - in particular because he was difficult to score from - but this Aussie team is 2 batsmen, 4 all-rounders and 5 bowlers...hardly a strong batting side. So it's no surprise they went from 2 for 160-odd to all out for 241. Every batsman/all-rounder bar Maxwell spent some decent time in the middle so he can't have been too unplayable. Of course, it could have been better for Aussies, but I think they'll just be happy to be spending some good time out in the centre.

Khawaja hasnt impressed till now

Smith have to wait to see how he perform now

Henriques i dont think he can replace Hussey

Maxwell need to stay at the crease more not just try to hit every bowl

Your line-up is great, Epic. However, the two debatable spots are definitely Shikhar Dhawan and Ajinkya Rahane, wherein I believe they will 200% be replaced by the CSK stars-Murali and RJ.

As for RJ, the case is positive in his favor given that he has been useful as a tweaker. His batting though has been a let-down. How I wish Rahane could spin the ball as well !

Dhawan getting a game-the probability is nearer to zero. Vijay would get in for sure. Like the trend has been over the past 2 years, our bench strength will warm the benches and I'd be surprised if they make it to the XI.

I don't know man, we'll see.

I don't understand all the Jadeja hate. Sure, early on he was not performing, but of late he has become one of the most valuable members of the Indian team. The only reason I do not see a place for him in the top 7 is that India's batting is already weak or massively under-performing. Also, Dhoni has not contributed enough runs in tests to justify the selection of another player who averages 30 or below in the top 7.

Jadeja is probably good enough to play at 7, but as you say, we already have a #7 in Dhoni.

I don't really see the point in a two day game but I think we play another 3 day game with what will be close to our first Test lineup. I think that will provide a greater indication of the makeup of our side and how we play the conditions.

The next warm-up will give a much clear picture of the proceedings. This, as many would say is an Aussie'B' side. The real fun would begin when the actual line up sets foot in India.

It's good to see Rayudu continue to score runs. He scored 140 odd I think in the Irani Cup final (was it?) and now 50 not out against Aussie XI. He seriously deserves to be in the Indian Test and ODI side.

So who do you think should replace Hussey?

Khawaja, Maxwell, Smith, Henriques??

How about Mark Cosgrove for tests and Rob Quiney for ODIs? The chaps have been scoring over the years and in my opinion, are fit to take Mussey's place. Cosgrove in particular, seems to me as a better FC batsman than the ones you have named. Recalling North (for tests) wouldn't be a bad idea as well.

Henriques wow, that economy rate is ridiculously good along with 2 wickets.

Seems like Wade is just chucking the ball to everyone. He should bowl as well

Truth be told, M Hussey is irreplaceable. He is the sort that grafts his innings like Bevan and it will take some time to find a suitable replacement for him. I agree with Fenil's point about Marcus North being considered for the tests. Csgroe would probably not figure on their minds given that he is considered to be more of an opener sort of batsman.

Bird and Henriques been the impressive two so far. Lyon doing a bit of a Krejza. No closer to deciding who replaces Hussey from this match, next match it is.

Australia to win 3-0

with good for nothing Ashwin & Jadeja in the Indian team Aussies can even win 4-0
