Australia Tour Of India 2012/13

I meant Bhajji was going play this test for definite. So, they could have accommodated Ojha in place of Jadeja because we already have Ashwin doing better than Jadeja with the bat and Bhajji can bat a bit too. We could have had an extra specialist spinner.

I have more of a problem with Harbhajan being a "definite" as you call it than I do Jadeja being a part of the side. What exactly has Harbhajan done in the last 5 years to warrant a chance of any sort? Oh yeah, absolutely nothing.

And yeah Pattinson...it you're bowling 3 over spells, you should be able to do 2 of those per session. He should be on 12 overs bowled by now. Has to be him and Siddle this morning while the ball is reversing.

Definitely should have got 9 overs in, 3 spells in a day can't be hard to ask.

Yeah I don't really see the point in picking Pattinson and then hardly even bowling him. It's called a test match for a reason, if someone's not fit enough to handle the workload, don't pick him.

Yeah, wasn't that the reason why Siddle and Hilf were dropped? They weren't FIT enough.

Also, are Australia bowling Tendulkar back in form? Australia loves bowling people back to form.

Lyon bowls Tendulkar with a beauty. No century today folks, he's gone for 80.

On this day, Sachin Tendulkar became first man to score a double hundred in ODIs.

And the master goes. Bowled off Lyon.

I agree too! Laxman's commentary was at times very hard to listen to. He does not have a polished English to be sitting in the commentary box and talk about the game for hours. He is not a Ganguly or a Dravid who can speak fluently and better.

No kidding, he pronounces career as 'carrier'! Another Jayasuriya-like case as a commentator :p.

Both Sachin and Kohli were struggling since the start of the session. They did not score anything in that first hour.

Don't know why they went into that shell in the morning. Both Sachin and Kohli played too slowly. Should have scored 20-30 runs more in that first hour. Still, 81 is a very good knock for someone under immense scrutiny and pressure even after 20+ yrs of his career.

Dhoni coming ahead of Jadeja is a good thing. I thought Dhoni might come at 7. We still have the pair, then Jadeja/Ashwin and Harbhajan. And even Bhuvaneshwar can bat a bit. Getting to 380 first with at least 4 wickets in hand should be the target.

Its good for India and Sachin that he has found some rhythm right at the start of the series. The last thing he would have wanted was to start off with a low score and questions being asked of the his selection worth yet again. With our opening slot being so uncertain as it is now, I would take a dogged 80 odd from Tendulkar anytime as it allows guys like Pujara and Kohli the stability they need around. We saw the difference it has immediately made in terms of stringing partnerships together. You don`t want guys like Jadeja and Dhoni facing a fresh Pattinson and Co. with their tail up! Before I forget, Dhoni has been superb so far, counterattacking at just the right time. Twice in this test match when Australia were with their tails up, we have counterattacked. First Tendulkar and Pujara yesterday and now Dhoni today. Will have to wait to see if its a deliberate attempt. The intent has been far better than against England so far with the Indian batting.

India now need to buckle down and hang in there for another session. If India even bat out till tea today and get bowled out, this is going to be a superb test match. :yes Im confident that we can eek out runs to reach 380 at least with even Bhuvaneshwar Kumar quite capable of hanging around. So its only Ishant who is a proper tailender and even he can hang around for long.

So even though the first hour was absolutely pain to watch, the counterattack from Dhoni turned things around. It allowed Kohli to play freely as well. Hopefully they can tackle out the new ball well and reach close to 380. I really hope Jadeja can contribute some runs today. He should target getting 30 runs first rather then directly setting his goal to 300.

Session 1 to India there even though Hour 1 was Australia's. Dhoni's counter attack off Lyon was very good and it changed the game after that first hour. Had Sachin done that in the first hour, probably we would have had more runs.

Excellent batting by MS Dhoni and Kohli.... They have attacked Australia superbly after the fall of Sachin's wicket. ESP. Dhoni coming out attacking more so against the new ball is great to see.

Outstanding stuff this by Dhoni-Kohli!!! Brilliant counterattack, esp. after the new ball was taken.

Laxman - stop talking man. Starting to feel like a pain in the ear... Accent is so irritating for a commentator.
