Australia tour of India (Feb '17/Mar '17)

So what? If this generation won't, the next generation will. That's not the end of the world.
But they are really trying hard to play on conditions like this.
And I am sure all Australian true fans will get a lot more positivity from this tour.. Go Aussie. Whitewash India.
We're discussing Australia's chances in this tour. It's irrelevant whether the next generation will be able to win in Asia or not.

Actually India holds very less chance of winning this series.
Out of form batsman, clueless pacers, ruthless fielders.
India is completely depended on Kohli, Pujara, Ashwin, Jadeja.
Does Indian batsman got any plan on how to face spearheads Starc, Hazelwood.

4-0 in India in 2013. 2-0 in the UAE against Pakistan in 2014. 3-0 in Sri Lanka in 2016. When did they improve? Australia never had an "up" in Asia after 2011. Only "downs".
Australia should stop touring Asia if they are losing here....

You clearly have not seen the England series.

Karun Nair, Jayant Yadav, Murali Vijay??

Have you not seen how well they have performed in that series?!

The players are in form and I am very confident we will beat Australia 4- nil
Starc and Hazlewood will be challenging to face though but our batsmen are up to the challenge. We can thrash them just as we did the mighty Jimmy Anderson and Broad.

Glenn McGrath is that you ?
Or Alert of **Sarcasm**?

Starc is going into the series like Johnson went. Starc will be hammered too. Its funny how few people change supporting of teams based on one player. Also if Indians should be worried about Starc, Australia have Shami, Ashwin, Jadeja, Yadav to worry about. All bowlers are in equal fom spin or pace. I would say 4-0 right now as Smith and Warner are key, I would say 2-0 for now or 2-1 as I feel Dharamshala wicket wont be attracting spin plus small ground

As I said before India have lost just 2 test series at home in 17 years!

It's not easy to defeat India in India in Test Series but hopefully we will fight who knows we might win :)

Need to learn from our mistakes in LANKA :)

Exactly, I am more inclined towards seeing a nice well fought series. To be very honest other then the Rajkot pitch all other pitches have played out really well. It was no dustbowl and good pitches to fight on. If Australia show the fight they have inside them it will be more then interesting. Australia need Smith and Warner to be at the usual best with two other batsman stepping up. If batting is good I think Australia have a decent bowling attack to trouble India. We have seen some small collapses in few innings it was just the English and NZers dint capitalize.

Ok, i'll admit it, Starc might be a threat, but did you watch him against Pakistan? He couldn't swing or reverse swing the ball apart from the first one or two overs.

I'm just dying to see the Channel 9 commentary team. They're so far away from the legendary trio of Benaud, Lawry and Greig. It would give me immense pleasure to see them rip their own team apart months after they were portraying them as the next big thing.

Fox sports will broadcast the away series for Australia and the only time channel 9 broadcasted an away series was 2015 Ashes series in England.
So chances of them doing commentary is obsolete.Allan Border and Matthew Hayden are the most likely commentators from Australia alongside Brendan Julian (most likely candidate).

Damn! I LOVE Haydos though!

He might get it to swing in Dhramsala in the cold mountain air. But I knowing now that one of the Tests is in Dhramsala, I say 3-1 right now. I doubt any draws because Aus will just crumble In the second innings and Ind can chase whatever is on the board cinsidering Aus will do miserable on this tour as expected.

I have to say I'm surprised at the number of people who are not giving Australia even a semblance of a chance here. A scoreline of 0-4 or 1-3 is pretty disappointing to see.

There's a very real chance of Starc struggling in India. Not because he's a bad player but because there's no support. Hazlewood can be easily picked off in subcontinental conditions and the lesser said about Australia's spin options, the better.

Also, I disagree with the people who say 'Australia should stop touring Asia since they're so bad', assuming they're not being sarcastic. This is a team that has been in transition since 2008(!), an extremely average team whose deficiencies have often been masked by one-man superhuman efforts (Clarke, Johnson, Smith and Warner). Even in the 2016 tour of Sri Lanka, Australia played quite well before committing some very characteristic silly errors and ceding advantage. Sri Lanka didn't win the series, Australia lost it rather.

The current crop of youngsters are the best Australia has produced in quite a long time. While there is no doubt that Australia will lose 3-0 at the very least, this is nothing but a preparatory tour in the long term. It's all about playing against the best and learning from them at the moment.
