Don Bradman Cricket Academy V 1.00 Beta is available (Updated 28/03)

re batting:
1. how do we do sweeps and/or slog sweeps? is this possible?
2. how do we do reverse sweeps? I've seen others do it I think but haven't figured it out yet. I'm assuming this is using the unorthodox shot?
Both are with the unorthodox shot button and then pushing the stick left or right.

For a Right hand batsman, use the unothodox shot button and flick the right analog to the right side.

This is someone who hasn't batted against a bowling machine before; so I may be talking total crap. Wouldn't the drift of a bowling machine ball be more than of a traditional cricket ball? The bowling machine ball has pimples in it; so I'm guessing that the ball would drift quite a bit in flight as it spins, which it would not do in real life. It depends if they modelled that level of detail in the game; but if they have, and if my assumptions are correct, then that could be a factor?

Correct, except they're dimples, like a golf ball :)

Ofcouese balls from bowling machines always swing or drift more than cricket ball to me it always seems to do much more than a cricket ball.

The drift in nets for DBC is a bit too much than reality but fine for the game as playing without it would be soo much more easier.

I always found batting against a bowling machine harder than against actual bowlers...thats because you don't get to see the ball until its flying at you...whereas you can guess where the ball is going to land based on the bowlers arm action (early release = full, late release = short, etc).

Same here. I can never get my trigger movement right. Sometime I'm too early or sometimes i'm too late. Against a bowler you know when to start moving your feet.

For the love of god read the threads or use the search button. Umpteenth time I'm mentioning this: " Yes it is possible.":mad

Downloaded the update and as expected it runs way too slow for me, how to turn down the graphics?
Main Menu>Options>Graphics.

Those who are saying they have mastered the fast bowling I would love to see them playing all the shots against fast bowling not just the front foot drive. Set the settings on pro level at least with random line and length and show the video.

I'll do it and post the video by eod tomorrow :)

here we go...some of the videos from my net practise session.

Please note, I have tried to play all shots but considering the length and line few were still left out. Not saying I have mastered but now I think I am very much aware of when to and how to move analog sticks to play the shots.

After paying the nets for so long, I'm satisfied with the amount of power shots carry. Thus I'm convinced that the full game would have sixes as occasional affairs rather than what we have accustomed to seeing in past games. I'm yet to loft a ball cleanly against spinners :clap
