Dravid Is Run Out And India's Last Hope Fades Away:

Indian captain Rahul Dravid has been run out by a mile after a late call from his batting partner Mahendra Dhoni. Steve Harmison has been rifeling down some corkers of deliverys and a straight one was dropped to point for a single, Dhoni made the call but hesitated and Dravid started his run late. Kevin Peitersen was the man at point and his pick up and throw was perfect, Geraint Jones had time to collect the ball, reposition himself at the stumps and whip the bails of and Dravid was still nowhere near getting in, he could have dived and that would have made it close but he didnt even attempt it, a strange descision to be honest, anything could have happened, the keeper could have fumbled etc and he didnt even attempt to get in... Pathan is the next man in.

Double Wicket Over For England As They Look To Seal A Win:

Steve Harmison came charging in towards the bowling crease, his towering frame rocketed the ball down the pitch towards a well set Dhoni, the ball that was pitched short skidded on and kept very low, Dhoni played the complete and utter wrong shot and the death rattle was heard. Steve Harmison collects his 3rd victim of the innings and is looking like hes back to somewhere near his best. Bowling at high sppeds with good accuracy, the bouncer than he got rid of Tendulkar with at the start of the first innings was the thing that has spurred him on and he has really ripped into Idia here in thei first test. India have no chance of winnning the match now, not even McGrath and Lee could keep England out for a day!!!

Pathan Saves Indias Blushes With A Quickfire 50:

Irfan Pathan has knocked another 50 from the losing total with a magical half century, he has struck the ball with mighty power and grace, to the rope and even over it on 3 occasions, Steve Harmisons figures have taken a battering after some poor fielding and some poor bowling to be fair, in the slot and the tailender has been alowed to free his arms. Pathan can strike the ball but i cant see him lasting much longer, he has been dropped in the slips off Flintoff twice and dropped on the boundary against Harmison twice, his luck is running out as is time for India.

Giles Out-Thinks The Lynch Pin Hitter:

Ashley Giles has out-thought Pathan to take his wicket here in the first test, in his first spell back he was taking a bit of a whalloping but it was all to plan, he was feeding Pathan some loopers outside his off stump to drive at in the hope that he got a nick, he didnt so Giles gave him a quicker flatter delivery that he didnt pick, he driove at it and he was not even half way through the shot, it went low to Steve Harmison who took the simplest of catches. England are now two wickets away from getting back into the winning ways in some style here in Kolkata! Come On!

Despite Pathan heroics and a much improved batting performance from India in the 2nd Innings, its gonna be a big win for England.

Excellent story and keep up the good work!!

Harmison Strikes Again, Kumble Is The Man Out:

England are now just one step away from a massive win against a strong India team. This will set them in good stead for the rest of the series and the rest of the year hopefully. The second to last batman to be dismissed in the match was Anil Kumble, he batted relatively sensibly to reach 19 which is a respectable score under the circumstances. He got out after a rush of blood to the head facing Steve Harmison, Harmison gave him a wide and short ball hoping for and edge, Kumble got a good connection on the ball as he drove it from the back foot, it went straight down the throat of Ashley Giles who has a good pair of hands. One More Wicket To Go!!!

England Win The 1st Test:

England have blown India out of the water here and the main main in the second innings was Steve Harmison, he ended with a 5 wicket haul, claiming the last victim of the match and earning the players and extra day off! He has found a line from around the wicket that really troubled the right handed tail enders, he fired in a cracking yorker that started outside leg stump and swung into it beating the rash shot that Harbajan Singh played, he finished on 11. A great start to the tour by England, they will now be looking ahead to the next test and wanting to seal the series there, i believe that they can do it too, Steve Harmison looks in great touch and the spinners really had an impact unlike in Pakistan, this combined with that fact that their batsmen are firing on all cylinders makes them a very tough team to beat, they seem to have recaptured thier Ashes fight!
