Story FTP: I've never been one for titles

Disappointing Chewie :p

Well I pretty much didn't make any changes for any of the past 3 seasons so my experience is pretty centred on my main 11 :p All seniors capable or above though except O'Keeffe.

I mean the last transfer I made was in Season 16 when I bought Dharson and Tindall was the only player I bought in Season 15. Probably why my finances look so much better :p

All-Round Performance Guides Hedger's Team to Easy T20 Win

Hedger's Team traveled to Gremlins Cricket Ground for their T20 clash, and found themselves out in the field when Gremlins CC skipper, Blake Gray won the toss and elected to bat. Hedger's Team made a couple of changes to the side, O'Leary brought back into the T20 side in place of Pettinger, while Yousif was given a needed rest, in place of youth spinner, Matthijs Juffermans.

Kevin Griffith didn't get Gremlins CC off to the start they needed, when he was trapped by Dharson for 5 in the second over. Whiteman should have had a wicket with his second ball, when Crane put down Cartwright at slip but Whiteman had his first wicket later in the over, when he got through the defenses of Fillmore, bowling him for 15. Juffermans, in his senior debut, started off nicely, only conceding 10 runs in his first 2 overs, before he got his first senior wicket in the following over, as Carr came down the wicket, missing it by some way, and van der Hoeven flicked off the bails, Carr out for 15 and Gremlins CC were 70/3 after 12.4 overs. Dharson, brought back into the attack, then trapped Truemer in front for 6, before Juffermans got the big wicket of Cartwright for 35 in his final over, as he pushed at a spinning ball and was unable to get bat on ball as it crashed into the stumps. Juffermans finished his 4 over spell with figures of 2/14 while Dharson finished his with 2/24. Goedhart made it 6 down when he trapped Holden in front and van der Hoeven had his second dismissal as Gray flailed at a wide Lansing ball, catching the edge. Some late fire from George with 23* off 17 however, managed to push the Gremlins CC total up to 121/7, which they would need to do outstandingly to restrict Hedger's Team to below that.

Lars van der Hoeven was unable to make the most of his promotion to the top of the order, as he managed to pick out Gray in the deep off Beattie, out for 12. Mol and O'Leary played their strokes as they put the pressure on the Gremlins CC and were 60/1 after 7 overs. Mol finally was dismissed for 30 off 25 though, as he was bowled by Stuckey. O'Keeffe joined O'Leary at the crease with some clean hitting, scoring a couple of boundaries before O'Leary was unable to push on, trapped in front by Beattie for 36 off 20. Omara was unable to find any of the strike as O'Keeffe looked to take over, hitting the first six of the match, as he swiveled and hooked Holden away for six. Hedger's Team finished it off in the next over, O'Keeffe scoring the winning run, as they finished 122/3, winning by 7 wickets with 6.4 overs remaining. Juffermans took the MOTM award, keeping Hedger's Team in second position, still 8 points off the lead after leaders, Royal greens recorded a comfortable win, while Tilley Thunder was the only team previously on 16 points to win, going outright third, still 8 points behind Hedger's Team. Royal greens plays Tilley Thunder in the next round, so a Royal greens victory would all but guarantee Hedger's Team second place should they win next week.

Toss: Gremlins CC (elected to bat)
Result: Hedger's Team 122/3 (O'Leary 36, O'Keeffe 35*, Beattie 2/32, Stuckey 1/26) def. Gremlins CC 121/7 (Cartwright 35, George 23*, Juffermans 2/14, Dharson 2/24) by 7 wickets with 40 balls remaining
MOTM: Matthijs Juffermans (2/14 off 4 overs)

Hedger's Team Completes Delaney Transfer

Hedger's Team have just announced the signing of Canadian batsman, Brayden Delaney on a record transfer deal, worth $1,612,531. The batsman will travel to join the squad tomorrow, and should be ready for the team's One Day match on Friday. Devil's Advocates and Bundy Bashers were interested in the player and were looking to sign the Canadian batsman but pulled out of the bidding as the price pushed close to $2,000,000. Hedger announced, "We're excited to welcome Brayden to the club. I'm sure he'll settle in fine, especially with Victor here to help him settle. We're still unsure where he'll bat but currently, will probably be batting towards the top of the order, and use the Omara-Delaney combination to full use." Hedger will now have to decide whether he will offload a batsman to make up for some of the finances, and Craig Crane seems to be the first one on the list.

Not doing a full update but the youth side finally recorded their second win, with a 1 run over 6th placed side, Tiger Cubs.

Sent into bat, Hedger's Team made 210/4, Vierhouten leading the way with 62* off 51, while De Rooy made 43 at the top of the orders, with a solid contribution of 31 from skipper, van Katwijk at the top of the order and 38* off 33 from Van Poppel, helping to push the total over 200.

At 141/2 after 28 overs and a RRR of 5.83, it looked like Tiger Cubs would record a comfortable win but two quick wickets from spinners, Juffermans and Lowik of the set batsman (Badhani 63 and Hafiz 59), Tiger Cubs were put on the back foot. With 8 overs to go, the RRR was 6.25 and it seemed like the Tiger Cubs would cruise home. A superb death overs spell of bowling however, from Bastian Gieling of 1/17 from 4 overs, finishing with figures of 1/26 from 8, kept Tiger Cubs on the back foot and left them 12 runs to win off the final de Rooy over. A wicket with the second ball left the Tiger Cubs 10 runs to win off the final 4 balls. Two's came from the next 3 balls, leaving them 4 off the last ball to win, 3 to draw. The ball was short, and Jaffer tried to pull it away to the boundary, but some good fielding from Lindhoud on the boundary kept it to two and Hedger's Team won by 1 run.

Result: Hedger's Team 210/4 (Vierhouten 62*, De Rooy 43, Bashir 2/25, Badhani 2/47) def. Tiger Cubs 209/6 (Badhani 63, Hafiz 59, Gieling 1/26, Juffermans 1/34) by 1 run

What a match ! if Gieling had not spelled that magnificent spell then i am sure that the Tiger clubs would've won but the bowlers did the job , all the credits should go to the bowlers and Van Poppel for helping to get 20 runs , well played the youth team .:clap

Hedger's Team Take Down Hertfordshire with Ease

Having lost the toss, Hedger's Team had to field first and made the first breakthrough in the 7th over, when Dharson knocked over Brown. Bollinger then caught the edge of Prafull, going straight down the throat of Young, and he was out for 16, Hertfordshire 38/2. A partnership was built between Lord and Anderton but poor running resulted in the third wicket, as Omara threw down the stumps to have Anderton on his way for 26. Tindall then trapped Lord in front for 14. Hertfordshire didn't want to give up though and battled through to the 30 over mark before Yousif finally got the wicket of Brownlow. Dharson then took his second wicket, Ellis caught behind for a duck. Buggs then edged Dharson to Young at slip, who took his second chance and Hertfordshire were 122/7. A 26 run stand was put on between Taylor and Simmons before Yousif bowled Simmons, and found himself on a hattrick as Viney cut Yousif straight to Whiteman at point who took a simple catch and Yousif finished with figures of 3/20 from his 10 overs. Dick couldn't support Taylor though as he edged Bollinger through to Pettinger for 2 and Hertfordshire were bowled out for 150.

Delaney found himself at the top of the order but it was Young who took first strike, and immediately put pressure on Delaney as he hammered two fours before dispatching a shin high full toss well over the mid-wicket boundary for six, taking 17 off the opening over (with one no ball). Delaney scored his first run with a nice single into the offside and got into the action himself with two boundaries a couple of overs later. Young was racing away though and already had 37 runs when the 50 partnership was brought up. Delaney who looked solid still needed to work on his running and paid the price as he was run out for 15. Young then added his second six an over later to move to 44 and brought up his fifty a few overs later, with a nice cover drive off Viney for 3. His explosive innings came to an end though as he was bowled by Dick for 54 off 40. Omara and O'Leary moved things forwards with some quick runs, before O'Leary was trapped in front by Simmons for 26. Omara and Mol finished things off though, Mol hitting the final runs with a boundary, Hedger's Team winning by 7 wickets with 31.5 overs remaining. It was a very comfortable victory for Hedger's Team as they continued to fight for top spot on the One Day table.

Toss: Hertfordshire (Elected to bat)
Result: Hedger's Team 154/3 (Young 54, Omara 44*, Simmons 1/26, Dick 1/57) def. Hertfordshire 150 a.o. (Anderton 26, Taylor 23*, Yousif 3/20, Dharson 3/29) by 7 wickets with 191 balls remaining
MOTM: Michael Young (54 off 40 and 2 catches)

O'Leary Perseveres on Bowler's Paradise

Having a look at the track for this friendly match between Hedger's Team and Chewie CC, it was a bowlers paradise and a slight surprise when Tindall elected to bat first. Young couldn't continue his great form, as he was bowled by Friesen. The Canadian batting pair put on a small partnership, before Delaney edged Connor behind for 34 off 42. Omara soon followed for 19 and Hedger's Team were in trouble at 3/66. O'Leary looked to build his innings and put on small partnerships with Mol and Pettinger but both couldn't go on, getting out for 9 and 12 respectively and Hedger's Team were at 5/110. Yousif and O'Leary provided the vital partnership that the team needed though, as they put on an 85 run partnership before Yousif was trapped in front by Richter for 37. Whiteman, Bollinger and Dharson couldn't add many more to the total though as Campbell added 3 wickets to his name, as Hedger's Team finished 9/206, O'Leary finishing 65* off 88, an innings which allowed the team to score over 200. It won't be an easy chase for Chewie CC though and will have to be in top form to chase this down on a crumbling pitch, especially with the likes of Tindall and Whiteman in the bowling attack.

3.4 W Bollinger to Lindeman : [catch] Short ball, and hooked straight down the throat of the man in the deep! Out!
T. Lindeman c R. Mol b. F. Bollinger 3 (3b 0x4 0x6) SR:100.00

And Mol wins the battle :D

Kip and Lindeman are my best two batsman by quite a distance and you managed to get them out early. Still had better fielding though :p

yeah, what's happened to your team? xD

----------

Like Mol's pretty much the 5th best batsman on my team attribute wise :p

----------

but like yeah, my all-rounder is pretty much the same ability in bowling as the rest of your bowlers xD
