ICCCT2006: Group A

Strauss out now. This is the England we know. They're going to need to be in the high 200's on this pitch. Best of the tournament so far.

Yeh, Watson is something special. He can bowl and take wciekts and he can bat in any situation in every position. Useful player.

Strauss gone from Symonds! They are in trouble now.

Symonds picks up the big wicket of Strauss who was going along nicely. That wicket bounced a bit more than usual, so perhaps we may see more inconsistent bounce later on.

England really have got the order all wrong today. Pietersen at 3?? It's basically making Symonds batting at no.3. Flintoff really should of dropped down the order today and bring Yardy or Dalrymple up the order.

I can't believe we are gifting wickets to this average bowler. I've seen better county bowlers yet England are gifting him wickets. I'll credit Watson with unsettling Flintoff though, apart from that, he's got two wickets from poor shots and has looked as average as ever.
watson average as ever? :mad take off the england googles evo mate

Yardy shouldn't have been out, pathetic nonetheless.

Watson is doing well, on the whole though still and average player, so far in his career anyway.

Poor decision, but Yardy really should of dispatched it away to the boundary since it was a pretty poor ball. It isn't very exciting at the moment but at least the tri nations rugby league is on :D

It didn't look that yardy hit that ball but thats cricket, anyway from this point its virtually impossible for england to post a good total their middle order looks like the windies (samuels, hinds, smith). The talent is there but you just don't expect them to make any runs.

My opinion of Watson is he is nothing special. Isn't what you'd call fast, though he seems lively. Doesn't swing it or get too much seam. Maybe gets a little more bounce then the average bowler. He has bowled well today. England arn't playing him very well. 3-10 ouch! And I thought our 4-23 vs Murili was pretty bad.

Infact, apart from the opening partnership the batting is as bad as ours was. England have just collapsed again!

The problem is, that England have lost their early momentum. Either Pietersen or Flintoff needs to score at least 50 each game. They are just soo important to the batting.

Dalrymple is the form batsman. He has to rescue England yet again.

edit: -> kodos, I keep wondering this. Where are you from? Australia?

I think also Yardy shouldn't have been given out. And Watson is a very useful allrounder.

I'm not wearing any England goggles, Watson is average.
i dont see how you can call watson average where he has broken into the best team in the world if not one of the greatest teamsof all time as a all-rounder in place of a batsman / bowler :mad

Shane Lee and Ian Harvey were all rounders for Australia in the late 90's/early 2000's and I find them pretty average :p

Watson certainly has improved in the past year. He's a versatile one day player but he still to me doesn't make the cut as a test player. His wickets today were his poorer deliveries and really you don't expect to take wickets from bad balls too often. One aspect where he needs to change is his body language, once he gets hammered around the park, he starts talking to himself and starts to act like a 12 year old, but when is taking wickets and bowling well like today, he is like a kid in a candystore. If he can rectify this aspect, I reckon he can be a much more useful cricketer.

Every team has to experiment, no matter how good they are.
