India tour of Bangladesh

He is Ishanth Sharma.

Checking on cricinfo. He looks dangerously skinny.

Joginder Sharma seems to be a name for the future with a batting average of 30 and bowling average of 19 in FC Cricket.

Joginder played a couple of games for India without too much effect. He is a pretty useful player in ICC though. :D

Also, I'm kind of disappointed that Piyush is sent back home, since he is supposedly an "OD" specialist. I would have liked to see him around during the test series.

Well, he stats point to a FC (ie. Test) player. You don't get much better than a FC bowling average of 19.71 and batting average of 32.87 with 14 five wicket hauls in 39 games.

But that is way off topic. This third ODI is not looking like starting and if it does, it seems like it will be approx 30 overs.

But the problem with our dear fast bowlers is, they make an impressive debut or prbly first few series.. and then fail to carry on in long runs. Pathan,Munaf and Zaheer are all the best examples. ;) In other words, No consistency!

And regarding Third ODI, i like to see a Bangla win here for making India not to take it easy in upcoming test matches.. :) Otherwise, they might be overconfident too.. :p

Joginder is hardly a fast bowler--he is more of a medium-pace all-rounder. His FC stats are indeed impressive but I don't see the selectors being lenient enough to give him a test match.

But how much better can one do to earn a test place?

I am very much impressed with both Chawla & Karthik. This series win again proved that Sachin and Ganguly are not indispensable in ODIs.

Well I think that this is due a lot to our hectic schedules-and the lack of proper dieting with the fast bowlers. Batsmen can maintain a good enough fitness level with the given scheduling, but fast bowling requires good enough rest, and a rich proteinated diet (which most physically exerting exercizes require).

Well theres a difference between winning without saurav and sachin against bangladesh and winning without saurav and saching against england/australia.

When WC minnows talk big!!
...then it not only appears out of place but also smacks distinctly of bad taste. The recent utterances of a visiting cricket team manager went thus, "We will show no mercy. We will not take any prisoners." One could have been forgiven if one thought this was John Buchanan, coach of the all-conquering Aussies. But, no, surprise, surprise it was the manager of the visiting team from India, the recently concluded World Cup's overrated and over-hyped minnows.

The remark was not just only in bad taste but also unbecoming of a visiting team official. Granted, the Indians are on a rehab and therapeutic mission to salvage some pride after a disastrous and foolhardy mission to the WC where they were put in their place not just by Bangladesh but Sri Lanka too. A team that could not reach 200 runs in two out of three matches inspite of boasting of the most egoistic batting lineups in international cricket is obviously suffering from an aggro based inferiority complex. Granted, the big mean batting machine spluttered to life just in time to spare the blushes of a billion aggrieved souls when finally the batting clicked and the full might of the newest cricket superpower Bermuda succumbed to it. Show no mercy, did I hear someone say? Strange, mercy was exactly the sentiment the Indians were expecting from Bermuda, as they hoped this nation with a population of just enough population to fit inside the Eden Gardens, would beat Bangladesh. Without saying so in so many words, Bangladesh naturally showed no mercy.

Bangolis still can't digest the fact that Indian team is better that their's.

India won 2-0 but according to me,it was not such a great win.Yes, Chawla did impress me and so did Kaarthick[i agree with Chappel on him being captaincy material] Ok what's with Sehwag ?Also the captaincy was'nt great not at all attacking.

If the team plays in the same manner against England, they'll be knocked out
7-0

Exactly my thoughts :D Lack of aggression! Lack of mental toughness with bowlers. I found a cool tempo with only Karthik. This reminded me Jadeja's cool way of playing cricket! Dhoni's Knock of 91 was a well matured knock though which was what situation demanded from him!

I find it amusing that our youngsters (Sreesanth) get injured after playing half a match (5 overs). Great for our future, huh?
