India tour of England 2018

Finally, a good session of batting from India with the pillars of the batting lineup, Kohli and Rahane, finally getting something of respect together! Its still not over yet. A burst of wickets will throw them back to the beginning, which was in the deep abyss.

Wish DK got the chance today in this test when conditions are more conducive for the batsmen. He never gets to play for India much and is coming back to test cricket after a massive hiatus, and he is given what?? 2 tests?? And is sacked for who? A T20 slogger who has not even played an ODI for India? God Bless Indian Cricket!! Dhawan for Vijay is more nonsensical. As ParkedTheBus says, Vijay has been India's frontline opener in test cricket and the go-to guy for overseas conditions. Some bad form and he is dropped? For who? Dhawan? Yes Dhawan scored 35 today but in better batting conditions? Who's to say that Vijay would not have scored more than that? Probably Vijay could have got a 50+ score himself if he was backed today.

Total nonsense! Its to Rahane and Kohli's (purely from batting perspective; not from captaincy perspective) batting that India find themselves in this position.

Ganguly / Dravid 4th wicket 135 here in 2002

Now Rahane and Virat 123* together
Anderson just dropped Rahane, difficult chance

205 for 3

I think eng will score 450-490 here.

New ball due after 19 over
Now if some Indian fan would say that it wasn't Chris Woakes but Kohli and Shastri who tricked Pujara in playing that horrible shot, I shall die in peace.
Pujara scored 14 today but he NOT PLAYED HIS NATURAL GAME was prime reason of his down fall.WARNER too today dismissed
On short pitch ball off holder

Murli balance vijay ---

best player but if he is not in form it's better to take chance with Dhawan on track like Nottingham

Dravid and Ganguly's record of 135 broken
For the 4th wicket at Nottingham

Cong Rahane for 3000 test runs

Scoreboard pressure to eng if we score above 360?

It's almost surprising to see Rahane batting with flourish and confidence after seeing him in the last two Test matches getting out tamely and not looking in control at all. He seems very comfortable at the crease now. Good to see the India's reliable overseas expert scoring crucial runs alongside Kohli.[DOUBLEPOST=1534607586][/DOUBLEPOST]Jinxed it!! :facepalm:noway

Was a fine innings nevertheless. Deserved a 100. Having said that, from 82/3 this partnership has really set up this fame for us. Hope the rest of the batting follows suit.

Rahane looked very comfortable out there during his inning today. However, I still can't get over the fact of how many loose shots he played. He did get away with a lot of shots but I think he needed to this luck to get his confidence back. I was really hoping he would go on to get a hundred.

Now I can say the same thing about Kohli. He played very loose shots in last 15 minutes which you don't see from him very often. Really deserved that century.

India need 450 and above here. The track looks like its too good for batting. England bat so deep down that almost all their players can bat. I think Kohli might again have made a mistake in not selecting Kuldeep for this game. He made a mistake selecting Kuldeep for Lord's. Hope he has not made a mistake again, by not selecting Kuldeep here.

Looking at this wicket, atleast one of Vijay or Karthik would have batted well. Let's see how Pant is treated when he has a few failures. Only batsman in the XI who plays with security knowing that he will continue to be picked, is Hardik Pandya. :rolleyes

Kohli had one hell of a let off when a review showed him struck on the pads a millimetre outside the off stump line. The skipper had not even reached double figures. Good to see Rahane return to form. He and Kohli did some serious damage to Australia in 2015 on generous roads.

Brilliant stuff from Kohli and Rahane, I don't know why some people are calling it a batting track just so these guys managed to get us past 300 especially since these two are our most skilled ones overseas. The pitch looked fairly green.

Some beautiful shots by them along with Dhawan and that six from Pant is a positive sign, I expect him to score a quickfire fifty today.
