His inclusion was questionable. A couple of good knocks in the IPL got him into the WTC Final - a decision which I wasn't a fan of. I'm no aware of his domestic record in the last 12 months but I suppose it wasn't anything of note given that it would have made headlines in the papers.

Slowly but surely it appears that he has to go. He wasted two golden opportunities to get back on track and I doubt there will a third given how this Test is shaping up. Pujara's drop seemed harsh, Rahane should have been in that list too.

He did score a lot but a lot of that was skewed against weaker opposition which I showed in an older post in the Indian thread. Pujara’s drop wasn’t harsh and neither will Rahane’s be should it happen.

I hope it’s just the team keeping the seat warm for Shreyas to come back in when he’s fit. It’s unlikely Sarfaraz gets a chance unless he has a Mayank like season in Ranji Trophy after he failed to turn up in the Duleep Trophy recently.

Played the spinners very well (even if they were just a mix of Warrican, Brathwaite and Athanaze) and paced his innings beautifully. Wouldn’t mind a renaissance from him in tests.
