Mafia: Discussion, History and Waiting List Thread

Lol why does everyone think they can run a mafia game now? You need to play atleast 2-3 games before even attempting. And very smart mafia players have screwed themselves when modding games, so its not an easy thing to do. Plus if you dont play mafia that well, people are not even going to sign up for your game. I have played alot of mafia games, but even now there are still things I dont understand.

I do have played, and I myself am going to run only a minigame, so there is not much pressure on me.

If you want to include only a few players, and that too the inexperienced guys, you may start it now as well.

lol if they want to run a game you can't really stop them. I understand you're advising them and you're probably right but you can't just say "no you can't".

He has a point though, they are terrible players so what makes you think they will be good game runners?

Also could you imagine the write ups?

the game would be dead long before Day 2.

Well, as we know that this forum suffered from a lot of inactivity before the mafia games took place and since the last 2 to 3 months, we've seen some terrific activity in this forum, all thanks to the mafia games. What I'm wondering is, do you guys think that it will be a good idea to have a SOTQ like competition but just for mafia games. Some of us do know here about SOTQ - i.e. is Story Of The Quarter and is run in the cricket stories forum. I was wondering if we have SOTQ in this forum as well but just for mafia games because the rest of the stories that are currently running are either very new to take part in SOTQ or are not frequently updated or have not reached to a certain activity to get nominated. We can include mafia stories in SOTQ because obviously all of them have finished and have got really nice activity and feedback's.

I discussed the matter with Chewie and Hedger (two active mods of this section). Chewie is busy so I haven't got a reply from him but Hedger did reply to my pm and we both aren't too sure about this matter. What do the other members think? Suggestions are welcome.
