ONE OVER TO GO

Cricket20052006-06-2514-08-43-43.jpg

The Kiwis have hit out well in the last 10 overs and are now in a strong position with one to go. Clark took his second wicket on the final ball of his spell. Vettori made room outside off and tried to slog Clark over the top but a good Symonds catch on the ropes ended his innings. The match is balanced evenly with both teams making runs and taking wickets at oppurtune times. Lee will take the final over for Australia...

LEE FINISHES WITH A 5 WICKET HAUL

Brett Lee has bowled a fantastic last over and has single handedly put Australia in a good position for victory here tonight. Lee picked up Franklin who was caught at mid off and Mills who chipped a yorker to Brad Hogg at square leg. Australia now require 256 runs in 50 overs...

KATICH DEPARTS EARLY

The Kiwis have made an ideal start by removing Simon Katich for a duck. Katich was clean bowled by Mills as he tried to drive a ball that cut back in and hit his off stump. Katich's future hangs in the balance now after making this duck...

Gilchrist and Ponting shd fire some quick runs in first 15 overs!!! Aussies can still do it!!!

Even Gilly is batting slow . This could be a problem for Australia. Ponting hangs around and everyone elese bats around him then Australia can reach this target.

Cmon Aussies. Ponting and Gilly gotta get moving if aussies need 256. With 2 runs per over they gotta lift.

GILCHRIST CAUGHT ON THE ATTACK

Australia's two openers are now both back in the shed after Gilchrist was caught at backward point for 15. Gilchrist slashed at a wide ball from Bond. The ball found the outside edge and flew to point where How took a very nice catch down low to give the Kiwis a good advantage....

now its the time to pick singles and rotate strikes as the required rate is managable!!! Still i feel Aussies can make a match here with ease!!!!

AUSTRALIA SINKING FURTHER INTO THE QUICKSAND

Damien Martyn has become the latest victim as Australia quickly begin to fall out of the game. Martyn tried to cover drive a good outswinger from Bond. Playing away from his body induced the outside edge where McCullum took a great catch diving to his right...

PUNTER STRIKES AN AWESOME 50

Ricky Ponting has again rescued his team like many times before. Pounter has just reached his 50 from just 39 balls, something which demonstrates his agressivness. Ponting has been particualrly dangerous through the covers, dispatching many deliveries through to the off side fence...

R.Ponting 51(39)*
A.Symonds 13(12)*
Aus: 3/89 (13)
RR: 6.84
Required run rate: 4.91
