How come Nannes has never been given a go? He seems like a good bowler in domestic cricket everywhere that I see him, yet he gets in the squad for a Twenty20 over here and hasn't been seen since. Surely with the WC only a year away, he's a better one day option than some random youngster?

Selectors never liked him as see him more as a T20 specialist. Even then he wasn't picked in our T20 WC squad which just reiterates that point.

Hopes remained with the squad so if Clarke isn't fit he would be the logical replacement.

He hasnt been in great form this Big Bash, too expensive. Not the best season for Dirk so far, but i'm a big fan of him.

It just seems weird to me that the main problem for Australia seems to be an opening bowling partnership in One Dayers, yet they have a guy who could do it and bowl as quick as anyone and he doesn't get a shot at it.

His OD record isn't anywhere near his FC or T20. Hardly takes any wickets and his economy is 4.7.

Happy to see that we're batting first. Pakistn maybe trying to put the monkey on our back by bowling first at the SCG, maybe they can replicate their test performance.

Clarke to play, so I suppose Voges will be running drinks. I wouldn't be surprised if White got a promotion today to number four.

Why drop your best bowler? Unless he's injured, that's a tweaking stupid move.

Rana would have been the logical one to drop.

Just out of curiosity, why doesn't Kaneria play ODIs?

Stupid move really, unless Asif is injured but there arent any reports. Rana is nowhere near Gul or Asif.

Yousuf said Asif is injured hence Gul came in. I guess Yousuf has fond memories of bowling first at the SCG. Should be good for swing so might not be the worst choice.
