What was the reasoning behind Pontings decision to bat first on such a pitch and in these conditions????
The great Phil Hughes

More than a few of the dismissals had zero to do with the quality of the pitch and conditions.
Thats worse than getting done in by Ajit Agarkar at home in a Test match (6/74 anyone)! Loving this.
On an other note, when Aussies and Englishmen in the forum come together to do India bashing, I would`nt mind Indians and Pakistani members getting together to do some Aussie/English bashing once in a while.
I have arrived
Let's start. Australia, you SUCK.
:laugh
The conditions and pressure had nothing to do with Ponting's or Hughes dismissal, more like very poor judgement, its not like this is the first time Aus have faced swinging conditions in the past year.
They were scared of facing the great Mohammad Sami.Especially as it all happened so early in the innings. How can pressure build up in a test match after just 3.5 overs????

He probably just didn't want to be chasing on this pitch.. but still, with conditions looking set to get better, it seems a poor decision now.
Also, it's interesting to see people like Insomniac getting all ecstatic and jizzing themselves, already bringing out the "AUSTRALIA YOU SUCK" comments. I must admit, I probably would be excited if my team had suffered 12 consecutive test losses to Australia and they were on top early, but to be honest I think Pakistan will choke. Their batting is nothing special as they have proved and when we bat in the second innings we won't be throwing any more silly wickets away.
Asif's bowling action looks iffy.
