Patch General discussion

Not sure but i assumed we didnt get reviews in Shield cricket in career because they dont have them IRL?

i also tryed to add reviews and also change to 100overs per day as it is in real shield cricket and neither worked in a new career

Confirmed that it doesn't affect existing careers but I don't see why it wouldn't affect new ones. Annoying.
Is that the same in Aussie state shield someone?
Career match types are unaffected by changes to CA for balance reasons. The information is drawn from a separate source that is set in stone.

Actually, I noticed that 3 times now the keeper/1st slip did NOT appeal for a nick which was quite loud - I did and got the wicket. All three times it was because the ball hit the underside of the bat (batsman was going for a cut shot against my legspin and hit high...ball hit the bottom edge of the bat) - bug?
yeterday in IPL punjab vs rajasthan, there was a delivery to pujara to which he swished outside off stump, and there was a loud nick sound but nobody appealed:yes it happens in real cricket as well:D even if this is a bug i wouldnt want it removed, as it adds variety, but i think it would have been intentional mostly.

I know this has been mentioned before but after playing lots and lots of games and trying evrything, despite getting revs of upto 2000 the spinners just dont seem to turn the ball as much as they should and this really decreases the spin bowling experience for me. i love how there are so many variations but there just isnt enough turn on the ball even with players like murlitharan and this reduces the lbw and bowled chances coz there were so many times as a leg spinner i trapped the batsman in front but as the ball didnt straighten(like it should to say the leasnt rather then turn towards off) the lbw wasnt given. It just doesnt feel right.
Its like you have to trap the batsman on off stump or around to get an LBW which is not realistic at all

The drift and turn with murali and some others is pretty damn big

The drift especially is massive.

The only balls thatiI think need a bit more are the default off or leg breaks. Those seem pretty weak

Leg spin around the wickets turns much more.

no it doesn't.

the different angle means that the ball ends up going further offside if you pitch it on the exact same spot. (offside assuming right hand batsman and right hand bowler)

Please post some videos if you can. I don't see much spin (or swing) either.

No,that's not spin. Spin would be if it came back into the right handed batsman for example (googly in this case). Just going across means it's just continuing with the angle, which the batsman can easily read, because it stays the same. Spin means the ball deviates from the expected/normal line after pitching...

Well in real life they're only in international games currently yet DBC has them in Pro40 and T20.

Hmmm well thats odd then. It's same in australian career, we get 1 review in domestic one-day and also reviews in the domestic T/20. I believe we do get reviews in the Big Bash in reality (i stand to be corrected).

On a side note do Scotland and Netherlands really play in English domestic cricket, as happens in DBC? If so, how long has that been going on?

I can make the ball pitch outside leg stump and hit off bowling around the wicket, that's not angle..that's turn.

p.s. if you want to correct someone on the physics of leg spin make sure you know the difference between spin and turn.

I mean I can't think of any other cricket game that didn't know what a realistic field setting looked like.

At risk of having my posted deleted, no cricket game has had realistic fields 'out of the box'. I should know as I have altered them all!
That is absolutely spot on. For those who like to play alone, irrational field settings will totally ruin the fun. Even in career mode, four slips in a T20 game breaks the immersion for me at least. I hope this issue can be addressed asap.

The biggest issue here for me is that this is first game I can remember not having different fields for test/first class and one day games. This makes it harder to determine what fields to use in any given situation. For me to fix you need to have separate fields for shorter and longer formats of game

That's what turn is.

Notice how a difference in position over or around the wicket can change the direction of the ball, despite pitching in the same position, even with no change in turn.
