Fielding presets have vanished

Hi guys, so just downloaded the new patch on ps3, went into my career mode I have been playing for a few days now and all of the preset fields have disappeared.... which isn't a huge problem when I am bowling (bowling all-rounder cm) but for the other bowlers in the team the field is set as a mid off, a deep fine leg, short leg, then everyone else in the slips!!! which means their overs are going for 15+ runs an over.
Also having to change fields every time start a new spell is very annoying.

Has this happened to anyone else?

And the Get Best NSW Blues team doesn't have many of the international players in the Shield and One Day sides by default because they don't play that often...it's the same with all the other state sides.

Again, they can be edited to your hearts content..

Nah mate, if they don't play that often then they shouldn't be reflected - I'm happy as is. Besides, its good to see who the possibles/probables/has-beens are in the current state sides (no disrespect to the RL players).

R3 will do that for you.

Is that pushing down the RAS?

We have not altered any stats/attributes of any players/teams.

so still "throw accuracy" attribute also works for bowling accuracy? Is there a post explaining attributes? i think MikeM said something about that last year

Ross, the first patch seems to have given the game a more polished feel. I`m now confident that post the second patch, this game will turn out to be one which has very few gamebreaking elements to it. For me, its just the bowler fatigue issue that needs to be sorted out along with the AI field placement logic. Everything else is just cosmetic changes. Hope you guys can get the patch out as soon as possible and take a much needed break.

Whoa, its been a long journey for all of us following this game`s progress. While its not perfect, for the first time in cricket gaming history its looking really good. Cheers!

Comments/issues post Patch#1 :

2. We really need to do something about the camera angle on running between wickets - the current method of looking at the batsman doesn't work and leads to runouts (refer #1 above...biggest cause of this). This perhaps needs to be changed to be from above you AT the direction the ball is travelling.

if fielding camera 1 was available in career it's almost Perfect.



3. There needs to be some sort of identifier to show you the optimal time to release/spin the LAS with spinners as there is currently NO way of knowing how close you are to optimum ie. to get maximum revs on the ball. The practice match doesn't help.

don't agree. It's 3 revolutions, it's already easy enough

5. As a bowler, am I able to be advised of when my field suddenly gets changed?

you alreadydo to a certain extent, it does the field change camera pan


6. My first post patch career was as a batsman for the Bulls...at No 5. however, I got picked to bowl legspin!! wtf. I know all my other careers (which I had deleted) was as a batting allrounder bowling legspin, but not this career so I was a little surprised to be thrown the ball to bowl legspin!

this was a brand new career started after patch eh. Weird.

Otherwise, am enjoying the updated game.

Nice video! Here are a few comments & queries...

1. How did you take the catch at 6:13? Did you press up on right stick or in some other direction (say down and left?) as I'm still not able to take those type of diving catches.

2. AI batsmen were taking too many risky singles after hitting to mid on & mid off. I recall @angad saying the same thing. They are just gifting wkts by going for suicidal runs and this is a big concern. AI bat loosely as it is without adding braindead running to the mix. @BigAntStudios, would be great if you can address it for 2nd patch.

3. How did you bring up the controls/manual at 14:24? Is there a shortcut button on PS3 to do so?

4. Can you put up a video about spin bowling? I barely get more than 400 rpms while bowling spin while most of the time I'm stuck around 200-300 rpm. Also, all my deliveries have a similar pace. Any idea how you can vary the pace? I tried bowling top spinners, doosras and sliders but I wasn't able to see much of a difference and I suspect it's a function of rpm, i.e. more rpm you get, faster your top spinner or slider. Any tips & help would be much appreciated.

1. Yes, I just held the right stick in the direction of the ball.

2. This is definitely a bug which needs fixing. They sometimes take crazy runs and I had even missed out on a few chances where they could have been run out for sure.

3. Press the Select button on PS3 to quickly bring up the controls menu.

This happened to me as well. I was a number 4 batsman with no bowling skill whatsoever in my career. We played Glamorgan and I bowled 2 overs. Not sure if it was intentional on Big Ant's part or not.
I should add we were being battered and had tried pretty much all our bowlers, which is why I was questioning if this is intentional.

Comments/issues post Patch#1 :

1. running back to the crease on a cancelled run needs to be addressed ASAP in career mode (ie. run, cancel, your player will jog back to the crease only to be runout)
2. When you get to the crease, you should be ADVISED about what type of bowler you're facing - I don't think you get that currently eg. facing a wrist/leftarm orth/finger spinner makes you think differently when batting purely because of the type of stock ball they bowl. I shouldn't have to guess it from the bowlers' name.
5. As a bowler, am I able to be advised of when my field suddenly gets changed? I'm assuming this is some sort of 'captain override' but I'm bowling to the field I preset, only for the batsman to hit it straight to Long On ... into open space, because the fielder got moved!

I have found a work around for point 1 - try using O (return to crease) and R2 (Stretch with bat) option

This is not an issue. Or a bug, or a problem it's meant to be there and was never going to be changed. You also do not need to put it in multiple threads

yeah I tried that ie. hit run then cancelled but once my player starts jogging back to the crease, even though I hit R2 (sprint/stretch) and/or Triangle (Dive), he does neither.

I also figured out the rpm thing for spin bowlers...difficult but part of the DB14 experience I guess.

Dude I wasn't referring to the slips part of that at all.
Just the red circle. Which I was a bit misinformed about anyway.
My main point was that none of that was ever spoken about being changed in this patch. We have to wait for the 2nd

Any reason for this anyone. I was on my career mode not signed in on Xbox Live, then I saved and quit half through the game. I went back on the game and was signed in on Xbox Live, did the update and then all of a sudden when I go on my career, it won't load up that game it just goes to the background screen and nothing comes up. Any way to solve this because I was quite a bit into my career playing for country?
