Didn't have to be a last over thriller that, but thanks to some brilliant ball blocking from Bravo(16th over maiden :facepalm), it was just that, whatever though, Dhoni more than made up for it by putting Steyn to the sword.

4 wins in a row that! :yes

Hyderabad had their chance in this game. They did well to get to 159, thanks to slogging by Ashish reddy and injured Dhawan. They did well to restrict the opposition to 132 in 18 overs and then Dhoni took over. A four and a six off Steyn and then a strange decision to bowl Reddy last over that costs them the game. But even Sammy could not have defended that. Of course, Dhoni's the man, as he always is for the Super Kings. 67 from 37.

P.S. - Karan Sharma is the man to watch out for. He impressed me a lot, even than Mishra and Chawla in the leg-spin bowlers category. :thumbs

Really bad move from hyderabad to give last over for ashis reddy were is bowling is first over and that to last one as well. surely they should have given to experience sammy

I thought he was good as well, but I also felt that he was bit lucky to only concede as many as he did, that 16th over maiden was just criminal stuff from Bravo.
 
April 21: Punjab vs Pune - Target 186 = Punjab won

April 22: CSK vs RR - Target 186 = CSK won

April 25: CSK vs SRH - Target 160 = CSK won

CSK now 4 wins out of 4! This could probably be their best ever performance in the league phases. To be joint toppers of the table after 8 games is a feat CSK has never achieved. Normally, we either accelerate at the very last minute or get through the back door entry (like last season). I wish we stay on track and qualify for the playoffs as quickly as possible. Don't follow the "leave it to the end" formula here also.

Dhoni is in prolific form this season, and that has given Chennai a massive boost! The way he toyed with Steyn, tearing him to pieces was a sight! I know Steyn might tear Dhoni to pieces when we tour SA this year for the tests, but who knows maybe Dhoni can use the psychological advantage well when we tour SA, if he bats well against Steyn one more time when we meet SRH again. But him and Hussey are lynch pins of the CSK batting this season, and they have helped us a lot.

Bravo could have gotten out in that over going for the slog. With Jadeja still to come, he should not have blocked. That made the difference and made the game look more close in the end.
 
I would certainly agree with Mr.Harsha Bhogle with this.Maybe the 16th over maiden was a part of CSK's planning.They generally like to take things till the end,so maybe they wanted to see even if they give a maiden in such a stage,will they be able to win it or not.They love killing people with weak hearts,dont they?

The thing for me is, he doesn't have to slog, take the damn single and get Dhoni on strike ffs!

No, no one ever plans to block out the 16th over of a T20 game...

Everyone here is just trying to find out why Bravo gave away maiden over or why he couldn't take a single... :facepalm

Please praise the young talent guys, Karan Sharma bowled quality leg spin balls with flight consistently. Even MSD fumbled on his bowling at the start, if u watched the match. He impressed everyone. :cheers
 
He bowled well, no doubt about it, but I think it takes a bit more than just good bowling to pull off a 16th over maiden, and that's called bad batting.
 
Finally a win for KKR, thanks to Bisla, Kallis and Morgan. KKR must be regret of dropping Bisla against MI :p

Now here comes the biggest battle - GAYLE Vs MALINGA
Malinga has bowled the most balls at Gayle in the IPL without being hit for six - 39 deliveries. He's conceded only 36 runs to Gayle :eek: :clap
 
Sunrisers basically handing Rajasthan the game, 29-6 after 6.1 overs... :facepalm
