2 mistakes GG made today:

1.Won the toss and chose to field.
2.Making Kallis bat above Eion and Pathan.
With all due respect,i love Kallis,he is a legend but sadly he is looking in a pathetic shape with the ball and bat, high time they bring LEE ahead of Kallis as KKR need to win 6 out of 8 i think.1 or 2 more losses and KKR can happily join Delhi and Pune there for the race for wooden spoon.

Oh come on dude! CSK have won almost all their games this season chasing. I dont even remember a game from this season where they batted first (apart from this one). And when CSK chases, they have monsters like Hussey and Dhoni who are perfect at the art of timing the chase and dont fear any kind of a required run rate. Its vulnerable for CSK to be asked to set a total rather than to chase a total, and thats what Gambhir did. And they almost pulled it off.

Why has MS dropped Albie Morkel, he is surely much more useful to the team as an all-rounder than Dirk Nannes or Holder? Sometimes MSD's selections can be impossible to understand like the dropping of Michael Hussey from a game earlier, and thank god someone finally got a chance in place of Vijay :yes

I don't think MSD will ever give up on his gloves, he loves them more than his helicopter shot.

Albie is not that reliable a bowler for us to play him as a front line bowler ahead of Nannes. Even in earlier IPL seasons, Albie came good in only a few games (importantly, the crucial ones) and his batting has been a big reason why he has been retained by CSK despite his mediocre bowling performances. Nannes had a bad day today, but I would give him time to return back fully after injury.

@SaiSrini : Dude,i did not mean it that way.It was around 38 degrees in Chennai today and Chepauk had more than 160 written in it.The KKR players were more than exhausted when they walked out of the park. The fluid in them were low.The heat had a toll on them.So GG should have batted first after winning the toss and should have posted the total and defended because even CSK players are humans and they would have lost the gas in them after being in the burning sun for 90 minutes.

Great to see a change from rcb dilshan left out today and mukund getting a game also henriques coming back

Point to be noted above.

But KKR lost only because of McCullum's failure an Kallis 19 odd runs @ strike rate of just 100. We can't blame Morgan to finish off things. Bisla's wicket was crucial.

Best moment for me was Narine's failure, Hussey, Saha and Raina smashed him easily. :p

I don't get why KKR doesn't give chance to Ryan ten Doeschate. He can slog very heavily and cna bowl a bit medium-fast, a support to bowling department. There is no need of Senanayake or McCullum in further matches.

The way mukund batted i feel that he is fit for test match itself :rolleyes

Give him some time, RCB already have tried Agrawal, Karun Nair, etc... so better give him another chance. He can hit good boundaries :thumbs

RR bowled well today. ABD and Virat played bad shots, and thrown their wickets. Its on Rampaul & Co now to give them a win.

I am with RR. Watto and Dravid are in superior form. :cheers

I loved Sanju Samson's inning. He was playing with no pressure and making every shot look so easy. Hope to see more of him in next few matches.

Samson has to produce some more knocks in coming matches, then we can say "He is the IPL find of this year" :thumbs

Overall, a good inning and a good match overall. Vinay almost clinched it but Binny comes to the rescue for RR. :cheers

Much needed defeat for RCB.Halla Bol Rajasthan Royals. On your face Vijay Mallya for dumping my idol from your team after 2010.Hats off Dravid for promoting Sanju and equally well played young brother.Way to go RR :thumbs

TBH, Its started becoming a bit boring now. The IPL should seriously look at dividing the teams into 2 groups. That would make it more interesting.

If you look at my post again, I have never said that "He is the IPL find of this year". I have just said the way he played was absolutely brilliant and I am hoping we can see more of him in next few games that RR play.

Yes bang on and i would like to add one more point there. Not every year,IPL must be played 2 years once and it must be played in different countries in rotation.I enjoyed the 2009 IPL in SA very much actually. The nature of wickets there and people cant just clobber you for a six every ball.Just imagine IPL being played in Australia,it will be nice to see Gayle clear MCG and not this Chinnaswamy.Chinnaswamy looks as small as my backyard.

No, because if that were true teams would just stack their sides with 11 all-rounders. :rolleyes

How exactly would you split 9 teams into 2 groups? :p
