how many of you here think that Clarke should be made the ODI captain. I'm not suggesting or questioning Ponting as captain but just to prepare Clarke for the future.

Also cant believe that South Africa cant find a better captain that Botha. Thats the only thing keeping him in the team, his record is way below average.
What do you guys think about Duminy maybe being the ODI captain in Smith absence.

Botha has probably been our best ODI bowler. He came back after being banned and kept things tight and got the odd wicket. Look at how he bowled in the second T20, went for under an over.

Duminy doesn't have enough experience to be thrown in as captain. He is only 23 and hasn't being playing in the ODI team for very long. Boucher would be the more likely choice.

But he has played for a while now.
He started off his career badly but has Improved and has kept it tight and now also taking Ponting's wicket.

Marsh is playnig very well for his 61 at the moment. That 6 of Botha was massive

Nice way to get back into form by Marsh. This is the role he plays best, don't know why the commentators thought he could do the Warner role.

Warner wouldn't have lasted today, the ball isn't coming on as well as it was in the T20, or even in the Test. Bit disappointing.

Either Clarke was stuck in Test mode or he wasn't fit, certainly not the Clarke we are use to in the ODI arena.

Few boundaries have really come to the batsmen and they're often forced to create the pace or drive a length ball through the air. The pitch is looking more like last season. Let's see if the Victorians put their experience to use.

van Jaarsveld having a horrible time in the field. the last one he dropped was easier than the 1st one.

Yea that van Jaarsveld certainly is looking dodgy in the field. 2 very big wickets he has missed, and David Hussey could well punish him.

I was prepared to pay out the lack of 5 bowlers with Clarke coming on, but he gets it spot on. That could be enough of a breakthrough, with Duminy the one key player remaining.
