South Africa in Australia Dec 2008-Jan 2009

Hilfy was in the squad for the last 3 ODI, he was rested/dropped for the SCG match. He'll be back on Monday. Speaking of the death bowling, Tait looks to be one but I can't see the other one. Hilfy is better being bowled out and Johnson is too wayward for me.

Hilfy has an average of 28.75 and a strike rate of 29.2 this series. Only problem is his economy: 5.89. But he's gone ok. He's bowled at the death and been unlucky. Him getting dropped is atrocious and should be ahead of Harris.

Weird.

Hilfenhaus is a superb talent, imo and his economy has suffered from him bowling at the death and perhaps pitching a tad too short. Harris looks an ordinary bowler to me and although he has a lot of pace (up to 148kph), he doesn't seem to get considerable movement or bounce or anything which makes him seem like he'll trouble international batsmen.

It seems he can swing it, I hope he can cause I too didn't see much apart from his pace. Wish Geeves wasn't injured hes doing much better than Harris in the FRC.

Don't see how seeing he was the problem in the Test series. But would he replace Marsh?

Hes in the squad Harris is Bracken replacement in the squad. Hilfy just didn't go to the SCG.

Marsh is just as good at 4.

Marsh is just as good at 4.

I could see that working. Just don't know if we want to be running back to Hayden everytime we are in trouble cause he won't be there for the 2011 WC.

Here is the FRC form guide, interesting enough Harris has a better record than Hilfy. Geeves is injured or else I suspect he would be in, so the only other option would be Bird but with Tait and Johnson not a good idea.

And they recall Harris instead of Hilfenhaus? WHAT is up with that.

Seriously does anyone know the address of the selectors?

In other news Johnson hopefully will fail as a bowler and validate our collective opposition against him being picked after the retirements of McGrath. venom had it spot on, definitely the worst action, the worst deliveries and yet gets wickets at a seemingly good average on paper. If Hilfenhaus had been the successor to McGrath, then he'd probably be averaging about the same actually, but the difference is that he'd be able to produce a career worthy of note. At the moment it seems have the selectors have a personal vendetta against him. Perhaps a domestic violence row?

Damn Australia Day! Having the next game starting Monday at 3AM instead of Sunday at 3AM! :noway

I don't understand why cricinfo didn't put this article up on the frontpage yet, because it consists pretty big news: Boucher won't play, because he has a broken toe and is out of the series. De Villiers will be the wicketkeeper. Bracken won't play, because he has a calf strain. Hilfenhaus will play for him. Kallis is also having some problems, but he is expected to play.

All to play for as series heats up

The only way to nullify Morkel is to put him in situations where more than 6 is required per ball.

Either that or injure him.

Seriously though we need to bat better, no more 75 off 105s from Marsh, and no Marsh in the team period. You could say Marsh is bogging us down.

To say Marsh is bogging us down is baffling and bordering on ludicrous.

Not every opener bashes 75 off 50, a solid patient batsman is required when you have a Warner at the other end.

Seriously now...

In fact its our bowling that needs work, and our middle order. Top order is fine.

Bring in Harwood, it's a risky one but we need an economical bowler to replace Bracken and Harwood is one of the best in the country at keeping it tight.

Harwood wouldn't be the worst idea. He is mean and angry, a true fast bowler.

Henriques has better stats then Harris this year!
