South Africa in Australia Dec 2008-Jan 2009

Steyn and Johnson in one team now that would be interesting. Both guys taking wickets of poor balls would drive the opposition mad :p

Once again Haddin and Roy have a chance to further get some brownie points.

300 lead, in no small part thanks to the heroic number 9, he's in superb touch and numbers 1-6 might be feeling a touch foolish.

Hey, if Krejza gets a 50 and takes a few wickets in the second innings, he might be man of the match in both of his tests. He's definitely a talented cricketer!

Aus 225/7,2 overs remaining...lead by 319 runs,i guess they would like to get a lead of 380,that would be a good score...Krejza is batting good,he is not batting like a tail ender,

Krejza always was rated as an all rounder when he was at NSW. I really don't see a weakness in his batting compared to other tailenders.

Good to see Haddin playing his natural game, hes really settling into the keeping spot now.

1st session: SA 2/38 (11.5), Aus 1/49 (12.0)
2nd session: Aus 3/66 (28.0)
3rd session: Aus 3/113 (35.0)

Another nine wicket day, another day in which momentum swung back and forth. South Africa looked to be gaining the ascendancy in the middle of the day but yet again, Australia ran away in the last hour. Katich and Ponting played with class early before surrendering to disciplined bowling. South Africa seemed to be in control as Clarke and Symonds provided a stoic, yet subdued partnership, but they both lost their wickets in attempts to hit out. Haddin and Krejza later combined in a partnership of free strokeplay that appeared to run entirely against the state of the match. With two days to play, it's still anyone's game, but if trends continue, Australia will slowly but surely pull away.

Jason Krejza should replace Hayden as an opening batsman:p

Good joke mate...but yes Hayden is not in good touch,he didnt get runs in India too,as for as Krejza he is shown his batting skills,he is a good player,he bowls well and even bats there, hang in there, and he contributes well in partnerships...Aus lead by 322 runs and 3 wickets in hand..lets see how far they can extend their lead, according to me 380 would be a good score...

Even Johnson can bat well,he also has contribted many a times..Aus really have a strong batting line up.

If Johnson worked on the short pitched delivery he too could be a handy batter. Seems to get out quite a bit to the short stuff although he certainly can pull it.

I would like a 400 run lead with this pitch still in pretty good shape. Ideally bat to lunch tomorrow then 5 sessions to bowl SA.

South Africa would feel that they had the better of the day's play but they know that the Australians have the better of the situation. Having squandered a chance to disallow Australia a first innings lead, South Africa spoilt things further after having reduced Australia to 162 for 7. One felt that Steyn should have been tossed the ball at that stage with instructions to crush a few toes but Smith missed the trick. Australia sit pretty at the moment with a 300 plus lead and a lot of time.

Problem is they also have the reputation for choking against the Aussies. They will need to strike early as if these two get in again that lead will blow out fast.

Aus at this moment is in command, they have time in hand, they do have bowlers to take wickets, the only thing right now is to watch how much they can extend their lead,or do SA bowlers restrict them, and put break early this morning?Lets see..
