Sri Lanka in England/Netherlands

Well our fielders have lost us this game.

Harmison for Mahmood foe Edgbaston. As long as Harmy comes through it.

Or Loudon for Panesar and replace Plunkett with Harmison.

Kulas gone.

Murali in!

Hoggard c Pietersen.

Bravo Hoggy and of all the players on the pitch I wouldn't want under a skier after last summer KP suprises me by taking it! :)

I actually would like to see Jon Lewis bowl next match. Maybe instead of Plunkett.

Kulasekara is out. It may get tense now.

It's looking like 180ish off 30 overs. 6 an over on what is still a good pitch.
Easy enough to play defensive if they lose wickets too hopefully although I'd much rather Murali wasn't in the SL team.
Now we're fighting the light as well... :upray

I think Harmison if he gets through a good spell in his comeback CC game for Plunkett should be sufficient. We can't pick a bowler based on his batting for the next test, afterall out batsman look in good knick, and the bowlers have all bowled pretty well bar Plunkett (who did have a good spell or two but hasn't really looked threatening)

Panesar should play again, he's bowled pretty well in this match, and Mahmood when he puts it in the right areas has looked dangerous at least.

I would like to see England chasing about 200 runs from about 30 overs. Should be a great finish to this match. But Sri Lanka has to score quick runs from now then.

At bloody last. Watch Murali smack a quick 30 odd just to rub it in!

Why would they do that? Panesar has bowled beautifully.

Long tails and FLetcher dont go.

Off for bad light.

Eh, Lewis took nine wickets against Sri Lanka in his warm-up match. And he got a duck in that match. That's why I said that.

But yeah, if Harmison is fit to play I would favour him to play instead of Lewis.

Yes I know matey, I was saying that either way Plunkett should be left out as we can't pick a bowler for their batting, which is one of the main reasons Plunkett is playing. Was no way suggesting Lewis should play for his batting

Ok, now I get it. I thought you were directing to Lewis, since you quoted it. But now I see you were talking about Plunkett.

But England basically lost the match cause of the dropped catches. And everybody contributed in that.

c`mon lanka !!!
20 or 25 runs now will shut all victory chances for England

Yet again though where are the close fielders to catch Vaas when he fends off the bouncers.
With Murali we seem more concerned with beating him outside off than trying to hit the stumps.

I know matey, it's been such poor cricket from England. Obviously fair play to Sri Lanka for having done well to salvage a draw, but the fielding has been appaling, England have hardly been aggressive, and the bowlers have been stupid. Bowling far too much outside off and short to the lower order. Next to nothing in the block hole. Barely a straight and full ball to Murali yet.

In my opinion, England have not deserved to win this match, fair enough they dominated the first 2 days, but they have been fairly poor since, getting increasingly worse as the game has worn on.
