Chapple has tonnes of experience and a good bowling record.

This squad has depth in batting, with every bowler bar Harmison and Mahmood being handy with the bat. (Harmy isn't bad either)

Bresnan, I wouldn't have picked him. Good talent, only 21 but his record doesn't enthrawl me.

Dalrymples record surprises me.

This batting line up could have Plunkett in at 9 or even 10!

Let me just clear this up. I didn't say 'Whoah! Glenn Chapple! because I think he's crap, it's because I just can't believe he has finally been picked, i've wanted him in that squad for years.

I remember Chapple. I used to follow County Cricket on Ceefax (now it's gone for a lot of years) and saw his records on the scorecards. Good player.

Big blow to England with the loss of Jones. I would most likely expect Anderson to replace him in the Ashes though and is more than capable to replace Jones.

i don't think Andersen will do a thing to worry the Australians. he is sort of in the Brett Lee mould with out the talent, maturity and experience to hurt even the worst aussie batsmen. i think Sajid Mahmood would be a much better option if Harmison is fit again
