Sri Lanka in England/Netherlands

4 and a half extra overs is still unnaceptable though.

Any extra overs in one day cricket is totally unnaceptable and ultimately cost us the game yesterday.

The Oval should produce a good pitch tomorrow.

Big Dunc has said they are likely to stick to the same team.

Despite Kabir Ali being better than Bresnan and Mahmood.

Perera in for Fernando? Is he injured? Strange call if not. (Ahhh, ankle injury. Unfortunate)

Coverage starts in 3 mins for me, I guess I will just wait.

Anyway SL win toss. Batting.

Maharoof is also in. Good move.

From what I can see from the live scorecards (;)), Harmison is playing a lone hand in this English effort. He's conceding only one and a bit an over, whilst Mahmood is being torn apart at over eleven. It's brilliant to see Harmison really finding his feet and, more importantly, consistent rhythm accompanied by the pace we all know he's capable of generating. Nevertheless, Sri Lanka are coasting at six an over, with Jayasuriya and Jayawardene setting the platform- England really need to break this partnership and hopefully exploit the middle order if they have any hope of coming out on top in this tri-series. SL 1/169 after 27, with Jayasuriya on 83 whilst Jayawardene has a run-a-ball 48 to his name.

Harmison has been great.

The rest, especially Mahmood have been terrible. Plunkett and the spinner have been ok.

Wow, what an innings from Jaywardene and Jaysuria. Fantastic batting. What great entertainment. Finally comes to an end via run-out.

That also has to be some of the worst captaincy I have ever seen. Bowler rotations, fields, powerplays, everything has been terrible. They need Vaughan back.

Jayawardene is finally out. England in a bit of worry here, since Sri Lanka is blazing away.

The England selectors are terrible at picking OD players.

Do you think Bresnan and Mahmood are better than Kabir Ali and Gough?

Mahmood was poor, but Jayasuriya is in phenomenal form, and Strauss gave him a poor field. Only 3 on the leg side, If it were me i'd have a 5/4 leg side field to Jayasuriya in a POwerplay.

Credit to Sri Lanka though.

Sri Lanka 242/2 (40.0 ov)

Sri Lanka could reach about 320 runs if they keep going like this.

Getting Jayasuriya out within the next 3 overs is key, for holding them to a respectable total.

I'd contemplate putting Loudon in for a seamer, The slower bowlers have been succesful for us.

Dalrymple 0-45(10) Including 13 off his last over.

Sri Lanka 319/8 (49.6 ov)

Not far from what I've predicted. Good batting of Sri Lanka. England batting has some work to do.

Harmison was fantastic today, I think the other bowlers struggled, and I think the SL bowlers will bowl better. I think England will get within 50 runs but will not win, sadly.

Tres out to Malinga giving a doddle to Backward point.

Bell and Strauss have to bat for 20+ overs at 6 rpo for us to have a chance imo.

Harmsion as 9 wickets in his last 3 ODIs since his return., he's in decent touch.

I never thought I would say this, but i'm actually glad that school enabled me to miss the SL innings! I've only seen the highlits via sky active, but Mahmood was awful today; whoever it was who said Gough and Ali should come in for Bresnan and Mahmood have my full backing. On a good note, it is nice to see Harmy back on form, and the England players taking some fine catches, which is good news for the Pakistan series.

EDIT: Oh Strauss! That was a daft shot! I know we need six an over but it's a little early to be doing that! KP needs a 100+ now, and Bell needs to support him. Maybe it's finally Bell's turn to get a 100, who knows? Either way, this partneship is crucial.

102-2 atm doing well. Bell hit a great six earlier.

Mahmood didn't quite deserve a run rate of 11+ imo.

He came on in the powerplay and didn't have the right field to a in form Jayasuriya.

Pietersen is out and this match is for Sri Lanka.

Man of the Match will be for sure Sanath Jayasuriya.
