Sri Lanka in England/Netherlands

4 operations on a knee for a batsman.

His career maybe.

Bell seems to be warming to ODI cricket though, we aren't capitalising on the first 15-20 enough. I'd maybe risk losing a century from Tres and get him to attack more.

This is gonna sound very controversial; Mal Loye could open instead of Strauss. A lot of what the Sky commentary team said in the Lancashire/Warwickshire match yesterday made sense. I think with the way we are getting hammered at the moment, it would be worth a shot. Strauss is more out of form than I have ever seen him too.

I wasn't saying I was embarrassed at being beaten by Sri Lanka, I said I was embarrassed at being beaten convincingly by Sri Lanka. They are good ODI team, but there is no way England should be being beaten by 8 wickets, and 3-0 down to them in a home series.

I actually believed SL would beat Eng convincingly. They always been better ODI side. Things were falling in for them in the VB series in Australia, and they even gave them run for their money.

But I didn't think they would have a chanve in test, i guess they proved me wrong.

Mal Loye is a good player, and a good ODI opener.

But tbh, it's as likely as Saj Mahmood bowling 5-10 (10) at OT.

We don't just need his experience; we need his skill!

Sajid needs dropping ASAP. Too expensive for my liking. Bresnan should of played the last match in place of Sajid with Loudon playing too :(

To be honest, i'd rather have Mahmood in the squad than Bresnan. I'd also rather have Kabir Ali ahead of both of them.

If you saw me bowl I would be more useful than Mahmood, i bowl about 60mph but i don't bowl wide outside off stump or crappy half-volleys all the time.

I'm not going to bother watching the last two games, they are meaningless i doubt England will win either one.

Hey if you are getting a game then so am I!

Seriously though, I hope England perform well at Trafford on Wednesday, I don't want to be at the ground watching England put in another poor performance.

Solanki is in for cover.

No sign of any new bowlers.

I'd bring in Ali for Saj. Solanki for Strauss. Colly for captaincy.

Once again though the selectors have gone back to a plyer who has had his chance at ODI level, why not pick someone differnet like say a Mal Loye, etc.

I agree m_vaughan what ever happaned to Tresco being Captain.

Agreed. Why on earth is Mahmood still in the squad when they have Ali waiting in the wings? Collingwood should be captain, he's been the most consitent. To be honest, I'd rather have Bresnan as captain than Strauss. :p
