If the game is abandoned without a ball being bowled, then it will NOT be the shortest test on record, and West Indies v England in 1998 will retain the record.

Latest news from the BCCI, the third test venue has been changed from Kanpur to Ahmedabad. Also Asian Cup which was supposed to be held in Pakistan, will be postponed.

Why exactly did they move it? Is Kanpur also in its rainy season?

They have moved it because the UP Cricket Association have not got control of the cricket ground in Kanpur which was to host the test! Its not their own stadium but they seem to have been leasing it so far! So this time, they have not got hold of it and so the test is shifted to Ahmedabad!

The test in Ahmedabad against England is now shifted to Mohali and the ODI against England in Mohali is now shifted to Jamshedpur.. Musical chairs going on between stadiums?

Looks like it is a musical chairs going on between the stadiums.
I think the test match at Chennai is going to be a wash out or eventually a draw match due to the heavy rain in forecast.

You still think it is going to be a draw?

Its going to be a wash out draw! Thats for sure!

The series is now down to Delhi and Ahmedabad with either side knowing that if they win in Delhi, they cant lose the series

Is today washed out. What's the weather today in Chennai.

Not sure! but going by weather.com which has been quite true in its forecast, we might be in for another wash out!

YEAY..... Positive news for Indian and Sri Lankan cricket fans! Sunny skies greet Chennai today!

News from Cricinfo:

Hello and welcome to cricinfo's live coverage of the fourth day's
play.
Conditions are much better today, the sun is out and shining bright
but the ground has not dried out completely and the news is that
start will be delayed.
Next inspection will be at 10 am IST (4:30 GMT).
The pitch and the square looks fine but certain parts of the
outfield are still in a pretty bad shape and the umpires have
decided to bring in the boundary ropes to avoid those areas.
We will take a break now and will be back with more updates at
10:05 IST.

We might be in for some play today after lunch! Stay tuned!
