Warm-up matches

Just as you say that, Munaf gets hit for 6 off 2. Speaking of which, Munaf needs to up the effort he puts in when it comes to the Group Matches and beyond because he clearly does not put 100% effort in.

That is what happens when you pre meditate any international bowler, you will get out.

Netherlands: 56/2 off 19.4.

I don't even think a Doeschate blitz could get Netherlands back in the game. If anyone will get them back in it'll be him.

Netherlands are batting awfully bad. Why the heck are they playing cricket?

Thanks for your support.:p
But I do belive we, with Bermuda, Scotland etc., are just delaying the World Cup. Because of all those group-matches it takes almost two months (!) to finish the tournament.
But we like cricket here in Holland, and for our 'great talent' Alexei Kervezee this is the oppurtunity to prove himself for his place at Worcestershire CCC. Our aim is, to win from Scotland. And of course we hope to upset the world with a win over Australia or South Africa, but in the way we're playing now, it's really impossible. We have a bit of the same woes as England (well, they had) about ODI's. "It's a young squad and we're building towards future tournaments".

But we're playing cricket because we like it. ;) Or at least, 10.000 of the 16.000.000 Dutch do...

Is it true that Bangladesh beat New Zealand? There's one for Ricky Ponting to think about.

yup Bangladesh have indeed beaten Newzeland by 2 wickets...WOOOOOO...Pakistan also won against Canada...by about 90 runs...hafeez and rao getting 3 each...

watch out india

if they beat nz chasing then i doubt they will struggle against indias bowling cos nz's bowling is much much superior to indian bowling

Bangladesh beat New Zealand with two wickets. :) Anyway, although this won't be counted as an ODI, it's a great victory for Bangladesh. And yes, they can be tough opposition for Sri Lanka and India.

No, because the first round only takes two weeks. It's the super 8 stage that prolongs it. If you had a quarter final stage instead of the Super 8, the tournament would be over in just over three weeks.

With the exception of Bond, I would say India's bowling isn't much worse than New Zealand's. But then, we have two world-class spinners in Harbhajan and Kumble to make up for that.

Guys heres my view of what I saw live on TV today between Ind and Holland.

Pathan- at one stage looked like gangu was bowling because of his pace. His fasted ball was 118 and line n length was even poor..and also alot of fulltosses. So I have no doubt that pathan will let india down if he gets chance against a huge team like sri-lanka. He got away today becuase Holland's openers were like Indian's number 8 and 9 batsmen.

Sreesanth & Munaf- They both were Okay. Bowling was not that great nor that bad. Sreesanth looked impressive and Munaf at times looked a bit poor with line n length and pace wasn't that great either. So over all I wasn't that happy with the afford these guys put today.

India's spin- Well I think this is the area where India looked very strong side with. Spin bowling was very impressive. Both bhajji n kumble bowled well and Yuvi chipped in with 4 and I like the punjabi bhangra that he did when he took a wicket of his first ball. Even Commenators were saying these pitches are going to support spinners.

Indian batting: batting looked good with sachin and dravid gettings scores. And also little cameos from Dhoni bhai and Irfan. Now all india need is one of their top guys like Sehwag, Gangu, or Robin getting big ones.

not necessarily buddy.. it all boils down to the conditions.. NZ are not as good as India when it comes to slow and low wickets. Apart from the subcontinent teams, very rarely have other teams looked good or even decent on subcontinent wickets. NZ, Australia, South Africa and England are all in that boat.

India will be better prepared. At least now they know what to expect of Bangladesh. The only way that Bangladesh can beat India is when India is overconfident. Now thats not going to happen

Well, I am not questioning the passion of cricket in Netherlands. But the way they played initially, it was disgraceful. Even though they wanted to play out the bowling, they ended up getting out for 118.

Yes, I agree with you. Pathan looks totally shattered in confidence. You can see it from his face. The usual excitement, eagerness, etc are missing. One of the mistakes that I think Chappell has done is to totally demoralise Pathan by giving him visions of a 'Kapil Dev' type allrounder status. He should have been allowed to concentrate on his bowling. Wonder if Pathan would regain back the form of the old. But yes, he seriously needs pace. How long can he rely only on helpful wickets? On unhelpful wickets, he will get smacked badly, and most of the time, he has to contend with unhelpful wickets because ODI's are a batsman's game!

Good job by Yuvi. Our fifth bowler most probably because I dont see Pathan playing many games.

Saurav missed out today, but I hope he gets his usual runs against West Indies. Sachin's form is ominous. This is the world cup, and looks like he has started his usual acceleration. He is a 'World Cup' hero. Always scores big in World Cups!

Also, I prefer Sree or Munaf in many games. Munaf bowls slower than Sree most of the time. Also Sree is a better fielder, better batter (among the two) and the most enthusiastic and aggressive player on the field, and thats something we need!

Many people seem to be lukewarm, at best, to Sree. I think that his aggression is something we need. Pathan's figures weren't too bad, but I didn't get to see the match, and it seems he's flagging in pace.
