Warm-up matches

Typcially Clark went for at the highest RPO in the practice game.

Yea true missed that fact, also missed the fact we again failed to bowl a side out. Definitely becoming a worry.

Yes, I agree with you. Pathan looks totally shattered in confidence. You can see it from his face. The usual excitement, eagerness, etc are missing. One of the mistakes that I think Chappell has done is to totally demoralise Pathan by giving him visions of a 'Kapil Dev' type allrounder status. He should have been allowed to concentrate on his bowling. Wonder if Pathan would regain back the form of the old. But yes, he seriously needs pace. How long can he rely only on helpful wickets? On unhelpful wickets, he will get smacked badly, and most of the time, he has to contend with unhelpful wickets because ODI's are a batsman's game!

Good job by Yuvi. Our fifth bowler most probably because I dont see Pathan playing many games.

Pathan needs to miss the group matches to concentrate on his bowling in the nets seriously. He has many techincal defficiencies which, if fixed can give him an extra 10mph pace. For one, he is not using his body in release and he seems to be dropping his front arm to early making his bowling arm just come over.

Wait for March 9, the 'real' warm-up matches are coming

India vs West Indies, Aus Vs Eng, SAF Vs PAK & NZL Vs SRL

:)

Yeah tell me about it. They recently beat Australia in a three match series for the Chappell-Hadlee(sp?) trophy. In one of the matches they inflicted Australia's first ever ten wicket defeat, to my knowledge; they then revealed how incapable Australia were at defending large totals.

:D
incapable? because it happened a few times it means they are incapable :noway

I thought the game was on March 5th, not March 6th! Plus I read it off of PakPassion :p
What a loser to read stuff off PakPassion .

Never believe whatever news they come up with, it ends up being wrong 90% of the time.

CrickeTime is the way to go!

Lets be honest, that is ridiculously drastic action to think about amputating a finger. He does not realise that it is only a game and such an act is too drastic.

Maybe he can find a way to tape it up heavily to "get it out of the way" as it were when he is fielding and batting.
Bit of an overexaggeration. It's just a finger. All it means it he has to pick his nose with another finger. I'd do it every single time.

Yes but the main international sides were all playing minnows and they were the minnows in that match. Even though they are a test playing nation they dont play very many tests.
They're minnow in the sense they aren't one of the big 8. In the sense that Sri Lanka were minnows, earlier. I think Bangladesh's time has finally come. I do believe they will be making waves this WC or the next. They've already showed their talent having beaten the likes of Australia and India, they've got a team of quickly improving youngsters and they even ran Australia to a close finish in their last test series (especially when there were talks of the match finishing in 1 day).

Oooh touchy touchy. Was just an exaggeration.

Today's matches

India vs West Indies, Aus Vs Eng, SAF Vs PAK & NZL Vs SRL

My predictions:

India vs West Indies
Aus Vs Eng
SAF Vs PAK
NZL Vs SRL

WI obviously have the advantage of being at home. Aussies are just a better side. SA vs Pak is probably who i'd consider the 2 teams with the least chance. But I went with SA because Pakistan have soo many players out that SA should be to good, spinner or not. Sri Lanka suit the conditions. We've played against them a lot but I expect bowlers like Franklin to be tonked again. Maybe Jaysuriya will go after Bond since theres nothing to lose. Bangladesh seemed to be trying to put him off stride.

Dunno why I even bothered predicting warm up games, I guess i'm really bored.

Well, it seems Ganguly is missing the match today against West Indies. In another match, England has got to a good start inspite of loosing an early wicket. Vaughan seems to be going well.

Johnson gave them 20 runs in two overs. Does seem like a good wicket, though.

Now, the spinners cometh. Is there a bit of grip in there?

Windies have lost two early wickets and India has got the right start from the opening bowlers :happy Some good signs for Zaheer too
