:happy :happy Good job Jayawardene and Tharanga, Dilshan with a useful 30 could have made more if it wasn't for that bad call. wouldn't have expected this score after Sangakkara fell, 290 to win will be hard to chase especially with a full strength SL attack.

Is there an interpretation that New Zealand are a much better side than Sri Lanka? This game was most certainly not handed to either team on a platter.

NZ were messy in the field, largely innocuous with the ball and benefited greatly from relaxed interpretations of the lbw law. On that performance, one would have to say they aren't looking good. They will have to bat much better to book a plane to Barbados, but how will Styris and McMillan hold together? Are their injuries too great to be playing with? Will the team stand up to the might of Vaas, Malinga and Murali? If they can't, it matters not how badly they fielded. They would just be beaten by the superior team.

Some interesting statistics: Fleming fell in the last four ODI's for a duck against Vaas. And Vaas got Fleming's wicket for about 11 or 13 times. Now he went out for one run by Malinga.
