West Indies tour of India Dec-2019

I don't mind him doing the signature stuff to Williams
Well I seriously enjoyed Kesrick's expression watching Kohli do that. And Kohli's gesture was worth watching too.[DOUBLEPOST=1575697448][/DOUBLEPOST]
It was like watching the Kohli of 2011-14 ultra aggressive, swearing and expressing his emotions after almost every shot and that typical pumping of fist after hitting the winning runs.
And that huge roar after winning the match.

Very interesting second innings there. Seemed like Virat was trying to prove a point to someone/something. Something fired him up in addition to the run-in with Williams. Perhaps some words were exchanged in the middle. Don't normally see him posing for the crowds after hitting the winning runs. Makes for some bollywood-esque entertainment though.

On a side note, the fielding was sloppy from India - dare I say bordering on the lines of being complacent.

Nonetheless, the match did provide what T20s have to offer. Interesting to see how the 2nd T20I pans out.

And for the love of god, what really spurs the Lewis' and Hetmyers' when they play against India? Feel like they enjoy batting against us (barring the IPL of course)

I agree to it. If Rohit took those couple of catches or Sundar took the catch he dropped that could've made the difference. Also in the Powerplay Kohli looked quite sloppy in the field when he mis-fielded a ball that was going to be a single and ended up conceding a boundary.[DOUBLEPOST=1575698788][/DOUBLEPOST]

Just look out for Brandon King who has had an impressive CPL this year. Yesterday as well he looked in complete control those 31 runs he scored were quite convincing to see and it gives an indication that he is a great T20 prospect going forward.

KL Rahul has made a bloody dead case for being a regular in the T20 side. With Dhawan showing up to be another accumulator and with Rohit already in that same mould, it's absolutely idiotic and insane if Rohit-Dhawan continue their combination in T20I's for India. KL Rahul is and SHOULD BE India's regular opener in T20I. I am sure KLR will enjoy the Australian grounds where the ball comes onto the bat more often. The kind of starts he gives, he makes most targets a mockery.

It's even more idiotic to let Rohit and Dhawan open together in T20Is considering the pair of Rahane and Rohit have done better. Rohit and Rahul should open in all cases for India. The other point you mentioned that the ball comes better on the bat in Australia isn't the case anymore. The Australian tracks aren't different from the ones in sub-continent these days. But I would still back Rahul to do well over there.

Dube at 3 ? What's going on ?:eek:[DOUBLEPOST=1575813549][/DOUBLEPOST]On a side note for some reason Dube's stance is looking a bit like Yuvraj Singh.[DOUBLEPOST=1575813618][/DOUBLEPOST]Can somebody explain the reason for slowness in the pitch today ? Did we have a rainfall in Thiruvananthapuram ?

Perhaps not the idea pitch for Dubey instead of Dubey I would have preferred Iyer at no.3 and this kind of experiment should happen more often.

Poor poor shot from Rohit !!! :facepalm
Tbh Rohit hasn't done much better either in the T20Is in recent times apart from the 85 he scored against Bangladesh. He has been consistently dismissed on scores under 20 post the World Cup. I think he should try and stick to his basics rather than trying some outrageous shot early in his innings.[DOUBLEPOST=1575814392][/DOUBLEPOST]Brilliant from Dube. I am loving this sort of batting from him. :cheers

Great innings that from Dube. Seriously this is what we should be expecting in a T20I game.

Positives from today's game - Shivam Dube.

The batting once again let us down I think apart from Dube. I am observing this thing that every series have went down to the last match with India winning which shows that there are few obvious deficiencies with the Indian team but they have their face saved with the result and some obvious weakness goes unnoticed. Same thing happened before 2017 Champions Trophy, the same thing happened before 2019 WC and the same thing has been happening right now on our build up to the 2020 WT20 in Australia.

Not just before those events but also throughout those events. Finally, those weaknesses will haunt us during the knockout games and we put all the blame on the day and say 'bad day'.

We should address such weaknesses as soon as we notice them so as to overcome them. But Ravi Shastri and Kohli both are kind of people who use 'bad day' and move on.

I was watching the highlights and was shocked to see how bad our fielding has been. Catches were dropped, too many mis-fields etc..
