10 Overs - Australia 6/73

6th Over

6.3 - Astle to Watson - OUT! - On middle stump and Watson had to up the run rate but all he did was find McMillan at Square Leg.

6.4 - Astle to Symonds - OUT! - Martyn is run out. They were attempting a second run but Martyn was just short of his ground and the umpire sent him walking.

7th Over

7.1 - Vettori to Symonds - OUT - Placed around off stump and Symonds came down the pitch to play a cover drive but McCullum was quick enough to wip of the bails.

7.4 - Vettori to Haddin - OUT! - Vettori pitched it on middle stump and it hit the pad. The umpire mist have been listening to The Red Hot Chili Peppers because that was defiently not out.

8th Over

8.2 - Tuffey to Hussey - SIX! - Slightly on off stump and Hussey sent it out of the ground. It went way over long on's head.

8.5 - Tuffey to Hussey - FOUR! - You don't bowl on the leg side to Hussey, especially with no fine leg. Great Shot!

9th Over

9.3 - Oram to Hussey - FOUR! - On middle stump and whipped away to the midwicket boundary.

9.4 - Oram to Hussey - FOUR! - Same as the last over expect different bowlers.

9.5 - Oram to Hussey - SIX! - On leg stump and belted into the stands. Hussey is on fire.

This man, Michael Hussey saved Australia with a great 27 not out

Between Innings Chat

Now in the commentary box with Richie Benaud, Mark Nicholas and Anthony Kiedis, lead singer of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

RB: What an interesting 10 overs of cricket this has been. Both sides taking the inniative but no one to grasp it.

MN: Yes, Richie. If it wasn't for Michael Hussey then Australia wouldn't be in a good position at the moment. I think they could have been around the 50 mark.

AK: I don't know much about cricket but he played really well. Definetly helped Australia. Cricket seems like a good game to me.

RB: Good to hear Anthony. New Zealand did bowl pretty good, except for the last few overs. Was it good bowling or just good batting?

MN: I think it was a mixture of both. Australia batted pretty well, though New Zealand didn't get enough balls up into the block hole.

RB: Thanks for all your comments guys, we will see you soon, when New Zealand require 74 to win off 10 overs. Goodbye for now.

5 Over Update - New Zealand 3/43

1st Over

0.1 - Bracken to Fleming - OUT! - Bracken comes over the wicket, he got a little bit of seam movement. It was a poor shot and Fleming got a first baller.

2nd Over

1.1 - McGrath to Vincent - FOUR! - Short ball outside off stump and Vincent freed his arms and smacked it to the fence.

1.5 - McGrath to Vincent - SIX! - Not a good over from McGrath. Slightly on leg stump and Vincent makes it dissapear into the stands.

3rd Over

2.3 - Lee to Astle - SIX! - On leg stump and Astle absouletly creamed it. The fielder at long-on had no chance.

2.5 - Lee to Vincent - FOUR! - A good yorker from Lee, but some how Vincet is able to flick it away to fine leg for four runs.

4th Overs

3.1 - White to Astle - OUT! - It looked like a bad ball, pitched on leg stump and short, but somehow Cameron White got enough spin and slowed the ball up enough to send Astle back to the pavilion.

3.4 - White to McMillan - SIX! - It looked like a good ball from the young leggie, but McMillan made White think the exact opposite.

4.0 - White to McMillan - SIX! - White speared in two flippers, the first one, looked good, 0 runs. The next one, bye bye Charlie, into the stands. The over went excellent to terribly wrong.

5th Over

4.1 - Symonds to Vincent - OUT! - Spinners seem to have a knack of getting wickets on their first ball. Symonds trapped Vincent LBW after he tried to play a sweep shot and got it all wrong.

Extras: 0
Run Rate: 8.6
Required Run Rate: 6.2
Projected Total: 86

Has Andrew Symonds saved Australia trapping LBW Vincent after he made a very handy 18 off 11 deliveries?

New Zealand Triumphs - 6/75

7th Over

6.5 - Symonds to Cairns - OUT! - It was a yorker from Symonds , slightly quicker and speared in at the stumps and Cairns looked like he had it for six but a great catch by Martyn at long-off dissmissed him.

7.0 - Symonds to McMillan - SIX! - Symonds tried to do what he did last ball but this time McMillan put the ball into the crowd.

8th Over

7.4 - Lee to McMillan - SIX! A good yorker from Lee but McMillan made it look bad. McMillan is making the Australian bowling look terrible.

7.5 - Lee to McMilllan - OUT! - A slower ball from Lee and it beat Haddin. They attempted a third run but is was never on and McMillan is out for 31 off 15 balls.

9th Over

8.1 - McGrath to McCullum - FOUR! - Slightly on leg stump and McCullum smashes it, one bounce and four.

8.4 - McGrath to McCullum - OUT! - McGrath bowled a boucer and McCullum responded, it looked like it was going to be a six but it found Watson's hands at fine leg.

8.5 - McGrath to Oram - FOUR! - Slightly short and on the back foot. Oram played an on-drive and hit it to the boundary, which means New Zealand win by 4 wickets.

Match Presentation

Michael Holding was there at the match presentation.

MH: What a intersting game of cricket. Both teams at one stage looked like they were going to win the match, but in the end New Zealand won by 4 wickets. I would like to call up the Australian captain, Ricky Ponting. Ricky, your teams batting today wasn't as good as it usually is. Why is this the case?

RP: Well, after such a long break you lose that feeling of hitting the ball in the middle. We didn't bat well as a whole side today, but thankfully Michael (Hussey) got us to a reasonable total.

MH: Your bowling was also a bit expenisve. How do you plan to improve this?

RP: Well some guys bowled well and others were a bit wayward. I think New Zealand just batted well.

MH: Ok. Thanks for your time Ricky, now I call upon today's winnning captain Stephen Fleming. You guys bowled well today. Do you think they got the ball in the right areas?

SF: Yeah and with Australia trying to up the scoring rate, it made it just that little bit easier to get wickets.

MH: Do you think you have a good chance of winning the tournament?

SF: I think we can win it if we keep on playing like we did today on a regular basis.

MH: Well thanks for your time, Stephen. I now call up to the podium today'##### of the match, Craig McMillan. Craig, you played a gem of a knock today. If you didn't bat that well, do you think Australia would have beaten you?

CM: I think so. They got a couple of wickets. Some of us got starts but couldn't continue on with it.

MH: Thanks for your time Craig. Ladies and getlemen, today'##### of the match, Craig McMillan. Now back up to the commentary box, with Richie Benaud, Mark Nicholas and Anthony Kiedis (member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers) to wrap up today's game.

Here McMillan plays a shot to help New Zealand win today's game

Match Wrap-Up

Richie Benaud, Mark Nicholas and Anthony Kiedis are in the commentary box to wrap up today's game.

RB: Hello and welcome back to our Channel 9 coverage of the cricket, we are wrapping up today's proceedings of today's game between Australia and New Zealand at the Adelaide Oval. New Zealand won today's game by four wickets. Do you think they were deserved winners Mark?

MN: Yes, I do Richie. They bogged Australia down in terms of runs for most of the innings except the last 2 overs which went for a few runs. When they batted they looked in control except when they had a few lapses of concentration.

RB: Let's take a look at the notable performances from both sides. Bracken had good figures, 1/2 off his 1 over. Hussey as we all know scored a magnificent 27 not out to keep Australia in the game. From New Zealand's perspective, McMillan played the slogging role and he did this quite well scoring 31 off 16 balls. Cairns got 1/9 off his 2 overs, a good spell from him and Vettori picked up 2 wickets for only ten runs in is 2 overs.

AK: What I can tell from these figures is that New Zealand had more players that had and impact. Australia had some players who got in then got out trying to lift the run-rate, but because New Zealand have a decent run-rate to chase they didn't really have to hit lots of 4's and 6's.

RB: Agree with you on that one Anthony. It has been a long lay-off for the Australians. Do you think they can still win the Ashes Mark?

MN: Only a fool would write off the Australians after one loss. They haven't played cricket for some time now, so it will take some time to get back into their flow.

RB: Well that wraps up today's coverage. We will see you next time when England take on New Zealand at the Sydeny Cricket Ground. On behalf of the Channel 9 crew, goodbye for now.

great game by the kiwis,i cant wait for the next match!:)
