Australia Tour Of India 2012/13

Australia vs India returns ............ So, i am also returning for a short span of time :)

Can't wait for the start !!

Ojha is dropped! WTF?

The first WTF moment from Dhoni. LOL

According to Cricket Australia, Clarke has won the toss and Australia will bat first

The first WTF moment from Dhoni. LOL

Dude he doesn't play for CSK, should have seen it coming. Dhoni even managed to get Murali Vijay in there somehow....

no i can't really believe it and i know someone else who will scoff at how dominant the 'turning it away from left handers' theory has become.

India would've been better off playing Ojha instead of both Sharma and Harbhajan. One good bowler is better than two massively overrated ones.

Second WTF moment of the day:

Sehwag drops one of the easiest catch.

Are the women's teams still in India? Might be able to give Shewag a few pointers on taking catches.

As expected, Dhawan,Rahane, Ojha dropped. Why does India even bother to select a 15 member squad ? Go in with 12 members, if they need anyone to sub, he can be picked up from amongst the locals.

Can't complain about that session. Cowan did his job as usual, taking some shine off the ball. Bit more aggressive than expected though. Sharma and Harbhajan copping some stick as predicted.. Looks to be nicely set up for another Clarke double or triple and declaration at this stage.

Interesting session.
Ashwin looked good. Harbhajan not so much. They pointed out his lack of drive through the crease.
Cowan was good until he tried to impose himself. He was picked as the stodgy opener, but he really hasn't played that way in his Test career thus far. I think Cowan would be a good Mike Hussey replacement at #5. He seems to be feeling some pressure to be positive at the top - not really his game in my opinion.
Warner's footwork was pretty awful early, and he had about 3 inside edges fly past the stumps. Has settled down a bit since. But he's a shadow of the player we see on true wickets vs pace. This series will be a real struggle/grind for him.
Watson has looked good too, and he's introduced a bit of occasional skipping down the wicket to the spinners which I really like. And he hasn't done it to swing wildly like Cowan, but to push to the deep mid off and mid ons for easy singles. Smart cricket.

I hate that theory.

But in saying that...Warner has looked most comfortable against Jadeja, and Watson has looked most comfortable versus the offies - exactly what that theory would ascribe.

Second WTF moment of the day:

Sehwag drops one of the easiest catch.

I thought it was a little tricky. Obviously he didn't have to move, but it came fast and unexpectedly kept rising so that what was a waist high catch suddenly became a chest high one very quickly. Much like that stumping that Dhoni missed.

Ashwin has been good so far.Didn't expect this from him.Ojha being dropped is disappointing. You don't drop your best and only successful bowler from the side . This decision looks to be based on the no. of lefties in the Aus lineup ,which IMO is rubbish.

Australia's session by all accounts but India could come back rather quickly if pressure is applied from both ends.Harbhajan usually gets fired up when he takes a wicket or two but he needs to stop giving that odd loose ball in every over.
Jadeja is doing what he does.Bowl straight and hope.Could work.:D
