Australia Tour Of India 2012/13

Happy that Henriques has 50 on debut, even happier that he has done it at a time we really needed it

Blows my mind that people don't have Austar/Foxtel, especially during footy season and with all the overseas cricket now going on  I'm from a rural area with one of the lowest incomes per capita in the state (I'm above the average thankfully :p) and have had subscription tv for as long as I can remember.

Clarke is going to score another 100

Henriques can score one too if he continue to play like this He is out 6 wickets for Ashwin 4 LBW

Absorbing day.I don't know what would be a par score on this track. There has been turn, but it has been slow turn so 350 might be a par score.Would have been nice if other bowlers chipped in,but Ashwin bowled well.He was only concentrating on offbreaks, which was good to see.

India would have taken 316-7 at start of the day.But they will be disappointed to let australia escape from 151-5.While Clarke batted supremely well for the most part(except that bat pad),it was Henriques who should be praised. An excellent, gritty effort and as this was his debut,it makes his innings much more special.

No huge amount of reverse swing so far.But Australia would know that their pace bowlers are far better.

If Australia somehow get to 400,they would hold a big advantage.Seems unlikely though.

Happy to see Henriques making runs, good to have a piece stroll through the forums/comment section without reading about how crap he is. Has a lot of Mark Waugh about him, good technique, elegant but has these lapses in concentration which has brought down his stats. Played the spin as well as any of our batsmen apart from that last shot.

Not much to add on Clarke, just another typical captains knock. So far we haven't seen anything to suggest we should have gone in with the 2 spinners unless you have 2 good ones which we don't.

Felt like we still had to get to 350 after that collapse, so still some work to do tomorrow morning. Despite being my 3rd or 4th pick as a batsman to come in at 6 or 7, Henriques stepped up and did the job. One step closer to keeping his place for the 2nd test.

Henriques did really well but for the Ashes the seaming pitches do we need him? If Watson comes back and bowls we will have a lot of seam bowlers.

But by then, I HOPE that O'Keefe will have a crack.

Also, on the note of bowlers what do we do with Cummins? When's he fit again? Although, we already have enough bowlers.

Good day for both teams. It was just painful to see Harbhajan struggling. Good to see Ashwin back in wickets. We need to learn how to get Michael Clarke out. I hope we can get them out early tomorrow.

The weakness of Australia to face "good" spin attack was clearly visible on day 1 .Ashwin performed well Jadeja too has done good . But disappointing from Bhaji on his 100th test .Clarke as always was really well with bat . :)

Good to see Ashwin among the wickets. Was very disappointed with him in recent times, and had been clamoring for him to be dropped. But this is a very good performance.

I would take 316-7 at the end of the day from India's point of view. Australia ended that Chennai test on Day 1 at 326-3. This time, they have lost more wickets (because they don't have those heroes now) but pretty similar to that game's Day 1. Hope this game is as close to that game as possible. Tomorrow should be fun (when India comes to bat). The Chennai crowd should have a ball tomorrow.

Its time we realize Bhajji is no legend. He benifited for most part in being partnered by Kumble. He has`nt been anything flash since 2005 IMO.

Really disheartening to see Harbhajan struggle to take wickets even on a turning pitch with red soil where he has taken loads of wickets in his career. Red soil pitches has always been happy hunting ground for Bhajji but alas, not this time. At least not it hasn't looked that way so far.
