Australia tour of India (Feb '17/Mar '17)

Warner holds the key for Australia. If he can giving a quick start, things might start looking gloomy very fast. That said, I hope Jadeja is allowed to bowl more because this pitch looks tailor-made for him given how its difficult to hang around or drive. Jadeja can dry up the runs and create pressure. That will be the key.

We got this guys! Aussies to be bowled out for less than a hundred.

I don't know about winning and losing but if U Yadav got out playing that shot with a recognised bat at the other end for my university team, he'd probably be dropped the next game.
I wonder what would have happened during the break if one of your specialist batsmen played a shot like Karun did first ball.[DOUBLEPOST=1488867205][/DOUBLEPOST]

Genuine question, Usy. Do you think this pitch is similar to Mumbai 2004 on which India bowled out Australia for 93 when they were chasing just 107? Secondly, what are your thoughts on Jadeja, the batsman.

I reckon Australia will do it with only 3-4 wickets down. With the trophy within their grasp and the idea of not losing a series in India especially when they have been in red hot form, I expect Warner to play aggressively and score a quick 30-40 runs to demoralize the bowlers and cut into the deficit in no time.

I think much is being made out of the wicket. Both teams should have got 300 at least once. The difference is Australia are showing a fantastic attitude and working hard for their runs. I still feel they should rather play positive. I also feel the Aussies have fielded much better than us.

On the Nair dismissal? Starc makes watching on TV a joke. 93-94 MPH hurling down and swinging like a banana? As a captain I'll take Nair's dismissal, not Yadav's.

Very good fightback this morning from Australia but nearly 200 will be an incredibly tough target to chase, particularly against Ashwin and Jadeja. Important thing for Australia is to learn from Rahul/Mukund and start positively. Put up a 50 run partnership at a decent clip and the match is anyone's from that point.

Did anyone else notice the commentators discussing Lyon's finger injury and opining that it wouldn't heal completely before the series ends? That's a big blow and the injury was quite evident in the way he bowled. He couldn't really hit the right lines and lengths this morning.

If Oz retain the B/G trophy, he's not needed. But, what a cricketer and great chap as well.

And guess what Yadav has two first class centuries! I still remember that canberra ODI last year where we could have won it aftera bit of batting collapse ,the equation was a run a ball to get and Yadav was swinging his bat up and down and ended up consuming 10-12 balls and eventually got out after that absurd innings.
These guys (Yadav and Jadeja) needs to show a lot of maturity and match awareness.

I don't really think this pitch is that extreme. Australia can win this easily if their batsmen apply themselves well. They have shown better application as compared to Indian batsmen in the series thus far. Indians will have to bowl really well to have any chance.

For your second question, I think for a guy who has 3 triple hundreds in the domestic scene Jadeja has been very poor at the international level. I think he can contribute more with the bat surely. At the moment it seems he doesn't take his batting that seriously. If he gave himself some time at the crease he can definitely add crucial runs for India lower down the order.

Bowl round the wicket to the lefties. Need to attack the stumps!

Its perplexing for me as well. Since he got that Warner dismissal, he refuses to bowl round the wicket. This, despite the fact that he got the wickets of Cook and Stokes whole of the England series by attacking the stumps.

Yikes. 22 on the board already.
