Australia tour of India (Feb '17/Mar '17)

Kl rahul is an absolute gun, love his technique! Mind you most indian batters are pretty good to watch lol... kohli love watching him, but can't stand watching or hearing him talk, or even seeing him in the field lol

This seems to be the plan here with Rahul being the aggressive partner and Vijay the anchor. As long as they can tire the attack, it still achieves something. Hazelnut`s looking dangerous here. The seamers look more threatening on this track than the spinners. Reverse swing is a bigger threat than turn here. India need to get to 120-odd at stumps for at the most 1 wicket. Remember, the longer the top order bats, the more time Kohli gets to heal his shoulder.

We must make Australia pay for not converting their first innings position to an impregnable 550-odd score. Believe it or not, India would`ve taken 450, especially with Smith having batted through.

Kohli is just one of the other batsmen, but I see your point. If I were an Aussie, considering Kohli's injury, Rahul is the most important wicket.[DOUBLEPOST=1489745451][/DOUBLEPOST]I think we must credit the Aussies. This looks like a cent percent 5 bowlers wicket, but because of the shockwaves they've sent to our batting line up, we have gone with 4 bowlers. If you lose the toss and bowl first you're down to 3 considering Ashwin. :lol

Kohli is just one of the 6 batsmen but due to the needle in this series and Smith`s effort, Australia would be surely buoyed by his wicket. Remember, we won the Chennai test (v England) and Bengaluru test (v Australia) this season with absolutely no contribution from Kohli.

Rahul gone for 67 extra bounce from Cummins doing the trick.Missed out on another opportunity to score a big one,India needed him to play a big long innings.

Cummins, you beauty! This kid is so so special. If only his body remains in one piece.

In my opinion, Vijay is being stupid. He's blocking everything or pre meditating sweeps. You can anchor an innings by picking 1's and 2's as well.

As long as he survives especially today, I am fine with it.

A good for India! first restricted Australia to less than 500 and a very good start with bat.Still a long way to go on in this match.Like i said earlier the situation is very similar to Rajkot test against England earlier in the season.

Draw on the cards here. Only team that can win this test now is Australia.

A result is very much on the cards. We must remember that the match speeds up 2x in the final innings in India. This does look like a pitch where batting might get really difficult on the last two days. Plus, with so much at stake, there is a lot of cricket left here. Pressure will get to one of the two sides and we will get a result here. In fact, if the first innings score for India is close to the Australian total, India would be better suited to win the test than Australia. Tomorrow`s play will decide which way the game is heading. If India bat through Day 3, the scores would be very close to even and then with 2 days left, it is anybody`s game. At the moment, Australia are favorites and draw is the least likely of the 3 results.

I understood your Ashwin hate when it comes to his talking style, but seriously? You are just trolling here. And I didn't think you were capable of this, considering you are one of the more sensible posts I've seen

Its very early to say that draw is on the cards. The play till Tea tomorrow will decide whether or not we will see a result in this match. The pitch is doing a bit for the spinners and it will get only tougher to bat on it. I would say India's first innings very much dictate the result of the match.

India desperately need a lead here to do anything. Also tomorrow's play will tell how much the Aussie spinners can extract out of this wicket. If they struggle, India could be buoyed. But with such a mammoth total, India need to play catch up and play it soon. We can't be blocking it all tomorrow.

You are right when you say Australia are favorites and an Australia win looks most likely here with draw being the least likely.

I was trolling. Post to be taken in light humour mate. Just fooling around. Plus when you're watching and the opposition is plundering runs, you get a little agitated. At least I do. I did appreciate him for his first innings vigil in Bangalore. :p

Chill and apologies if offence was taken, none was meant. :facepalm

Why are you guys saying that the draw is unlikely? A good day tomorrow for India would be 250-270 odd runs at 3 RPO, losing 3/4 wickets. Even then, they will be behind and considering how resolute the Aussies have been, a days batting is possible for them. Am I missing something?
